D.L. Did someone mention there will be a buddy read of the Percy Jackson series? I would so like to join in that whenever/if it happens!

Nour wants to read it but I don't think there is a buddy read set up for it yet.

Loved it. :)

I might be interested by the time you get to the Void trilogy.

Ok! I'll just wait to hear from Sean and Nikki. As you know I'm fine doing the lone wolf thing, just trying to be a Scott level Mod

Pandora's on my radar, but not for a while. I just have too many going on at once haha. I think I'm more interested in starting Scalzi's Old man's war or Viehl's Stardoc series before that one.

Too many books.

My college starts again in July so I was hoping to read it before August but I understand if you're busy or it's too early for you, even if you read it after me I would definitely join the discussion :)

What if we read the first 2 books this month (so starting ASAP) and the final 3 in July? Would that work?

I'd be cool to start Pandora's Star anytime after July, the only sci-fi series I have on the go now is the Expanse and I'm nearly up to date on that.

Sounds good - I have the book on my shelf so am happy to work around when others have access to it.

Sadly, I'm new to this too. This is my first buddy read xD I think we ask a mod to make a thread? Wait I'll ask and get back to you.

Hello M.E.!

Congratulations on the publication of your book, and I hope you find great success as an author.

If you would like to promote it or host a read-along, please instead start a thread in the self promotion folder :)

Do you have a date on the kindle release?

Clash of kings is excellent.

message 876: by Frank (new)

Frank | 827 comments Have read Pandora' Star and Judas Unchained, but never got to the Void Trilogy. if they are done I am in. Unless you are referring to The Abyss Beyond Dreams, and A Night Without Stars (Chronicle of the Fallers), then I believe you have to read the Void Trilogy first.

By the way would the group consider a reading of the Night's Dawn Trilogy? Always wanted to read them.

message 877: by Ahdam (new)

Ahdam (snowlocke) | 2429 comments I saw the reality dysfunction in the bookstore and I was thinking "Jesus that is a big book" but I do want to read Hamiltons work eventually so I may join in on one of the reads hopefully

We are starting with Pandora's Star Aug 1st, then moving through the author's major works chronologically (well, I will be)

... maybe.

message 882: by Frank (new)

Frank | 827 comments Night's Dawn was the first major space opera series written by Hamilton, which followed his Greg Mandel trilogy. .
The Commonwealth books came after.

Is there a schedule?

message 884: by Margret, Caladan Brood Face (new)

Margret | 3168 comments Mod
I'm not great with scheduling, and only one person so far has committed to read Commonwealth with me so I suppose I'll just see how things go. I guess I'll have to read the other books before we start in Aug!

message 885: by Frank (new)

Frank | 827 comments Well I read the first two Commonwealth books, but would join after that.
Night's Dawn, I have never read them either, and would love to do a buddy read of those.

In the US only paperback.

message 889: by Laurie (new)

Laurie Hi, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in Buddy reading The Books of Pellinor by Alisson Croggon. I've already read books 2-4 a few years ago, but since I've finally acquired the first book The Naming I plan on rereading the series. I don't have the new prequel The Bone Queen but I might be getting it soon.

That's my favorite YA fantasy series ever. I've read all of them except the prequel. I would be interested in buddy reading the prequel if and when you get to that one. And for people who tend to not like YA, I feel like this series is far above most YA. I wish I had time to re read the whole series.

No worries at all. With how many folders we have I doubt the mods can name them all. For future reference go the the bookshelf and search and then click on view activity. It will show you all the folder where this book, or any, are being discussed.

message 896: by Chris (new)

Chris (murphy44) | 710 comments Thanks for the tip! I actually found it by using the microscopic search bar on the top right of this page by typing The Warded Man. Then just clicked on the proper link and posted there 😊

Since The Legion of Flame is about to hit the stores, should we continue reading it? I remember I was completely blown away by the first one!
