Princess Night Hey Choko, which book you want to read first?

message 7102: by Beena (new)

Beena (beenz) | 2196 comments I picked up Ship of Magic for my holiday, but didn't manage to get very far- I'm only a couple of chapters in- if anyone's interested or got time to BR it now?

message 7103: by Nirkatze (new)

Nirkatze | 20928 comments I've been wanting to do a full Realm of the Elderlings reread--but I want to start with Assassin: Apprentice so I'd be a bit. Was thinking of making a Realm of the Elderlings Book Club thread where folks could work their way through. Are you planning on picking up the later series too Beena?

I would definitely like to join in on Elderlings Book Club! Esp. if it's read at your own pace :)

Siobhan (poi5ongirl) | 8702 comments I'm dying to reread Realm of the Elderlings but I'm reading Soldier Son at the moment so I'd be a few months late 😅

Camilla (camilla_milla) | 75 comments Beena wrote: "I picked up Ship of Magic for my holiday, but didn't manage to get very far- I'm only a couple of chapters in- if anyone's interested or got time to BR it now?"
I'm about 30% into ship of magic but my schedule is erratic at the moment so I'm getting through it very slowly. But I'd love to join a discussion if it's read at your own pace.

message 7108: by Beena (new)

Beena (beenz) | 2196 comments @Camilla, ah nice! That's great, I'll put in a thread request then for 11th July. No worries, pretty much everything here is read at your own pace.

message 7109: by Beena (new)

Beena (beenz) | 2196 comments @Nirkatze, probably not, I was thinking of just reading this trilogy for now and seeing how it goes... tbf, I'll probably wanna switch to something else afterwards, soz Nirkatze, looks like you got other takers though. :)

I'd totally be down for a Realm of the Elderlings re-read since other books have been disappointing me recently. lol. If it's a read at your own pace just let me know when you would generally start :D

message 7111: by Nirkatze (new)

Nirkatze | 20928 comments So, I went ahead and made a book club thread for Realm of the Elderlings:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I hope folks'll join!
I'm going to start picking up the first few series on audiobook (yay libraries!) whenever I have time.

Nirkatze | 20928 comments Melissa wrote: "The novella A Prayer for the Crown-Shy is coming out soon. Anyone interested?"

I just picked it up at the book store yesterday!

@Silvana--Brian Staveley's on my TBR, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to squeeze it in. Is that the first book to read in his universe?

message 7116: by Mel (new)

Mel | 2360 comments @Nirkatze
Really? It's not supposed to be released until the 12th. I pre-ordered mine, so it should be coming in the the mail probably later this week.

Would a week from now sound good? Hopefully that's not too soon for the mods.

Yup! Looking at it right now! Maybe the bookstore made a mistake and put it out early--but if so they didn't notice when they sold it to me. :)

I'd be down for a week. We can start whenever the mods have time to make the thread too, if that's in a week or longer. :)

If a Soul Taken Buddy Read was planned, it's gone missing... probably because the book was delayed... wasn't it originally supposed to come out in May?...

Tammie | 5948 comments Timelord Iain wrote: "If a Soul Taken Buddy Read was planned, it's gone missing... probably because the book was delayed... wasn't it originally supposed to come out in May?..."

It was set for May and then it got changed by one of the mods. I think it was changed to September 1st.

Well... the BR is no longer linked to the book, then, because I didn't find it when I went to the book page...

Yes! Feel free to bug me or send me a message if you get impatient too--work started back up again last week and everything just tends to go in one ear and out the other right now... I'm not overly confident in my ability to remember things, but hopefully my book arriving will jog my memory!

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 44 comments Thought I'd drop in I got the email notification for the Buddy Read for A Deadly Education! I'm in! Super excited for it as I just bought books 1 and 2!

message 7149: by Siobhan (new)

Siobhan (poi5ongirl) | 8702 comments Hi guys!

I'm planning my October TBR and wondering if anyone would like to join me for some buddy reads?

The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Stories
Stalking Jack the Ripper
The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein
Near the Bone
Lord of the Fly Fest
The Scorpio Races (with Courtney)

Writing them all down has made me realise I might be being a bit ambitious haha.

Also, I'm about to start The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires on Monday if anyone fancies it?
