Anyone interested in buddy reading these?- A History of What Comes Next (Current Audible Sale)
- She Who Became the Sun (Current Audible Sale)
- A Master of Djinn
- The Righteous
New Releases:
- 5/10 Kagen the Damned
- 06/21 Soul Taken
I'd be down for Master of Djinn & Soul Taken. I'd also be willing to haunt She Who Became The Sun--read it this year and enjoyed it! Haven't read any Sylvain Neuvel yet but want to...
Yay!The aim for Soul Taken start date will probably be 6/28. Give people about a week to get the book, etc.
When do you want to read Master of Djinn?
I'd be up for Master of Djinn! Been wanting to read that one for a bit. How long are you willing to wait? I'm a bit booked up for January.
March works. Beginning of March? *goes off to check upcoming BR list*How about March 3rd for A Master of Djinn?
For team comp points: You can start one week before the start date and up to two weeks after. That's when you start reading the book, not when you finish.

I'm interested in all of these, but I feel like I'm already committed to a ton of BRs (finished and unstarted) and unsure how many books per month I'm going to manage with the new work restrictions...
If you're spreading them out, I'll probably join them all... even the Djinn one I never heard of...

Iain, I know you'll read the new releases when they come out. lol The other ones we can spread out. These are the books that I saw other people had on their TBR and wanted to buddy read. I'm in no rush but figured we can plot out a doable plan.
I'm interested in joining She Who Became the Sun. But I'm the same as Iain, already scheduled myself to the maximum 😅I could probably make it from next month onwards :)
March 3rd works great for me too, for Master of Djinn. I'd probably haunt whatever you set up for other books as well--except for The Righteous--don't have book 1 so wouldn't want to jump into 2...unless space happens. :)Interesting that Soul Taken is coming out in June--Patty Briggs usually hits the March session. I hope she's doing okay.

I think she's fine... last year's release was delayed until May, I think... so this is basically a year from then... publishers probably adjusted for a better release date, going forward... basically the old Kate Daniels release date, at this point, I think...
I think the Alpha & Omega book after the death of her husband was rough (Burn Bright, the one that implied the Marrock sexually desired Mercy, and "ruined" Sage/Asil ship :D ), but things seem to have been course corrected in the following Mercy and Alpha & Omega books...

Potential Dates - Let's Confirm to Plan:- March 3rd A Master of Djinn
- End of March or in April? She Who Became the Sun
- May 17th Kagen the Damned 1 Week After Publication
- June 28th Soul Taken 1 Week After Publication
Any Interest? No Dates for These:
- A History of What Comes Next
- The Righteous
I'm down for everything! I'll just haunt She Who Became the Sun since I just read it a month ago, and I might skip out on The Righteous if I can't find/squeeze in book 1, but they all sound interesting. Anyone else interested in the Neuvel?
Themis Files by Neuvel were good. I had fun BRing that in another group a while back. There's no date for Righteous and I know Iain is planning to read it. You have time to read it before a BR. I think most BRs will be planned for February and later.
Rob wrote: "How about end april for She Who Became the Sun?"End of April is cool with me. April 22?
Anyone else?
BR Dates:I will put in a request for the threads to for these. Yay planning!
- March 3rd A Master of Djinn
- April 22nd She Who Became the Sun
- May 17th Kagen the Damned 1 Week After Publication
- June 28th Soul Taken 1 Week After Publication
Any Interest? No Dates for These: Yo, Iain & Brian! Hahaha
- A History of What Comes Next
- The Righteous

How was the Blackhawks? Been on my list awhile.
Rob, Blackhawks was a good setup book for the series. I was excited enough to want the next one right away. I liked the first half more than the last. Most friends enjoyed the last half more than the first. =)

So on the whole its "good" :)?
I think I BR'd Blackhawks with Soo last year... not sure which half I like more, anymore, but my review says I liked the characters...
The scheduled dates should all work for me, and I want to read the 2 unscheduled books, as well, sometime in the next couple months... no need to push further than already pushed with current schedule (Feb to May/June)

Yup. Blackhawks was good, and I'm ready to read Righteous. Iain liked the last half more than the first half. =D Bwhaha
I really want to join for Soul Taken if I can, I'm currently re-reading the entire Mercyverse and onto the last book now.
Siobhan wrote: "She Who Became the Sun is available from my library on 21st April! It's meant to be!! 😄"Woo!
Also, yay Charlie!
There's a BR for this, yes?
I had it mixed up with Black Jewels series in my head. I didn't like the direction she went with BJ. Which is one of my fav series by her and has a richer world than the Others.
But she hasn't gone weird with the Others, so I'm in for Crowbones. lol (Let that not be a jinx. Hahaha)
If there's not a BR, how about one week after publication?
Book is released on 03/08. Buddy Read Start on 03/15?
I just submitted a request for an An Ember in the Ashes BR. Em Lost in Books & I are going to give it a try. I'm starting today, but official set is for the 20th. It's last minute but we'd welcome anyone's thoughts. There's a last minute BR thread somewhere right? I'm gonna keep searching for it.
If anyone is interested in joining Emi & I in reading the Ember in the Ashes series, we're starting book 2 on Saturday. Hope folks will stop by!https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Daniel Abraham is back with a fantasy series! Anyone wants to read Age of Ash together with me starting on March 1st?
@Silvana I'm interested in reading that. I might be a little slower than Mar 1st, but I'd be along for the ride. :)
And on books note, the new Sarah J. Maas is either out as of yesterday or out soon: House of Sky and Breath--anyone interested in that within the next month or so? I am in no hurry.
@Nirkatze hmmm to read Sarah's book...tempting...very tempting... I could join... First need to have book in my hands tho :)

Soo wrote: "You enjoyed the first book?"Couldn't put it down at 3am with my alarm clock set to 4:30. :)
Fast paced, very sexy characters reminiscent of early Anne Bishop but with bite, and a high fantasy world that also has high tech. Interesting races, political intrigue, and deep secrets. I really enjoyed it.
Maas has a penchant for no-apologies sexy snarky female leads who enjoy pushing the envelope. Also who are recovering from past trauma and may have a martyr complex.
