Laura Tenfingers | 1132 comments I'd love to join in for Leviathan Falls. I'm at the mercy of when it arrives at the library but I'm first in line.

Laura Tenfingers | 1132 comments Thread has been requested for Prince of Thorns and the rest of the series, starting 1 Feb 2022. All welcome!!

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments Woo! Start date set for December 1st for Leviathan Falls or a little later?

message 6804: by Soo (new)

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments Just got the audiobook for Leviathan Falls. For those that were interested, when do you want to do the BR? Otherwise, I'll be diving in within a week. =D

Oh wow! I just logged in to update you on this haha.

I got notified I'm 2nd in line on 2 copies at the library (I put in a hold almost a year ago). I will hopefully get it by the 15th. If you don't want to wait I definitely don't blame you! If I wasn't already in the middle of a few things that will take me until then to wrap up, I'd just buy a copy.

Have you gotten yours, Laura?

message 6806: by Laura Tenfingers (new)

Laura Tenfingers | 1132 comments Oh sorry, Soo! I missed your first post about this.

I'm first in line at my library but it still says "on order" so I don't know how long it'll take to arrive...if it's just been released I'm hoping in a week?? How long can it take???? But I'm guessing really. No worries of you want to go ahead but I'll be here asap once it arrives! Can't wait!!

message 6807: by Soo (new)

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments I can wait for ya'll to get your copies. =) I still need to re-read #8 and then plan to go into #9.

Shall we use the BR invite thread to keep in touch?

Yay! I'll just set up a thread with a start date TBD and we can go from there. :D

Zaara | 4273 comments Rob wrote: "I hadn't yet suggested any dates. I was waiting for everything else to fall in to place? April or May even I think for me at this point"

Sorry for the late reply, Rob.
Re Greatcoats... April/May is fine with me and I'm happy to go with whatever date you pick once your other BRs are scheduled. Will you please request a thread for the series? I'm actually stoked about this one, only the first Traitor's Blade (Greatcoats, #1) by Sebastien de Castell will be a reread for me. And Hay said she may pop in and keep the rest of us company.

Laura Tenfingers wrote: "Thread has been requested for Prince of Thorns and the rest of the series, starting 1 Feb 2022. All welcome!!"

Thanks Laura. This reread was all your idea and I'm happy we are gonna make it happen. See you there!

Super last minute, but, Risen releases tonight/tomorrow... finale of the Alex Verus series...

Me and Soo are going to be reading it... I think there are some other fans around here?

Who else is in?... Probably starting tomorrow or the next day... can't wait...

If mods are around to make a thread, that'd be great, otherwise we might have to bend the rules :D

Use the BR request form for these last-minutes as well, just indicate that if it's not up by X date then don't bother lol.

Thread requested for tomorrow... with a note that we'll make it ourselves if not posted sometime tomorrow... that was always the plan, Niki :D

Not completely ignoring the request thread...

Do you remember the page/% of the big showdown where Verus vented all his pent-up anger at Richard, I think it was?... wanna re-read that, and maybe the final chapter or 2 of the previous book...

message 6816: by Charlie (new)

Lots of thread activity lately... 18hrs since the last comment, and it's already a page or 2 down my notification list...

@ modders ~ I just recently submitted a request for book #3. Please take a look when you have a moment. Thanks so much ^~^

Emily wrote: "Was there every a BR for Gideon/Harrow the Ninth? Those are some books that need discussing lol"

Not sure... maybe a long time ago there was one for Gideon... I did my Gideon re-read over the summer, and finally read Harrow (alone) a few weeks ago... I agree/wish there had been a BR, given the big reveals... maybe we can do one when Nona the Ninth and Alecto the Ninth come out in the coming years?...

I know Brian and Rob are interested in reading Gideon, but nobody ever managed to mention/interact at the same time and schedule a BR, that I noticed...

slagathor | 40 comments Emily wrote: "Was there every a BR for Gideon/Harrow the Ninth? Those are some books that need discussing lol"

I asked once a few months ago if someone wanted to do a BR and read Gideon with a different group in the end, since nobody here seemed interested. 😅 Since I wasn't THAT blow away by it, I'm in no hurry to read Harrow. Maybe I'd do that before the next is coming out? So if there was a BR for that sometimes later, I'd be game.

Yeah I was really hoping there was one for Harrow. I'd definitely be interested in a buddy read for the new books whenever they come out. I think Nona some time in 2022?

Yes - I was thinking at this rate mid to late next year already. I'm getting "booked up".

Why don't we schedule Gideon for July, Harrow for August, and then the next book comes out end of September? Could do it around the 20th of each month since the new book comes out Sept 22nd.

I'll join in for Gideon and Harrow. Been wanting to read these for a while now. Seems like good timing.

I'm up for the new releases when you guys get to them... not really looking for re-reads at the moment... found out I skipped way too many new releases in 2021...

So I'll be there for Nona the Ninth and Crowbones...

I'd like to read one in February and one in March. :)

You got it! I'll see if we can do one thread for the series. I'm going to put the dates on the 15th of each month unless you have something else in mind. That should give enough time to obtain Crowbones when it releases 3/8.

message 6834: by Charlie (new)

Charlie (charlieridley) | 5750 comments I'd be up for Crowbones!

I wanna BR with you, but don't want to overcommit... Wisdom of Crowds means finally reading Trouble with Peace... and I keep seesawing on waiting to read Cytonic until Defiant is closer, which isn't even expected until (probably November) 2023...

Tammie | 5948 comments Narilka wrote: "With Crowbones releasing in March, would anyone be interested in reading Lake Silence in January and Wild Country in February?"

I'll join for a buddy read of Crowbones.

message 6839: by Siobhan (new)

Siobhan (poi5ongirl) | 8702 comments Ahhh Iain you know you want to join me :D
I can push Wisdom of Crowds back a month if you need time to read Trouble with Peace. Though I'm sure if you're listening it'll take you no time at all!

I'll make time Jan/Feb for Trouble with Peace, and make it work... you sold me :D

I've had the book on my phone all year, just never pulled the trigger and read it...

message 6841: by Soo (new)

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments For those who do not like to wait, I'd wait for Defiant is almost released and read Cytonic right before.

Siobhan (poi5ongirl) | 8702 comments Fab, so I'm looking at:
Cytonic in Feb
Wisdom of Crowds in March

Does that work for Iain, Charlie, anyone else remotely interested? :)

Edit: or am I better switching them? I've lost the plot. 😆

message 6849: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) | 1229 comments Hey guys, so for the first couple months of 2022 I want to try to progress in unfinished series and only start new series for the 2 book clubs I'm in. That said, is anyone in the same spot on any of these series and would like to read them with me? They're listed slightly by priority.

Last Argument of Kings-I already have the audiobook. I'm planning on starting this when I go back to work on the 5th
House of Chains-In the mail, this will probably be a slow read
Rebel's Creed-Considering this is pretty short I'm starting it on the 1st so I can get this series UTD fairly fast.
When True Night Falls
The Fire Prince
Thief of Lives-Might need a refresher on book one if you've read it recently?
Ashes of Honor-Also been awhile. Planning on looking up summaries for the earlier books as a refresher
Throne of Jade-Might need a refresher for this one too
The Great Hunt-Really, I should probably read book 1 again first.

I want to read the entire Wheel of Time series next year, so let me know when/if you'd like to read books 1 and 2.
