@Melissa - No other takers right now. Do you want us to read it in Feb? I could wait till then and read his Lightning Struck Heart first.

Emperor's Wolves is about Severn. He's great! I can't wait to read the book & find out what happened. Events in the series are before the Chronicles of Elantra. If you find a copy & can join me, that'll be great. =)
As the first part of The Dark Tower Series is nearly finished, who wants to start the second book and when?
Yeah, February would be better. I may be continuing/finishing the Queen's Thief series at the beginning of the month, and have Wayfarer's #4 on the 23rd, but perhaps around the middle? Ides of February?
@LauraI'm planning on reading Swordheart this month! I could join you if you're still planning for that? (I'm slowly making my way through T. Kingfisher's books, they're so good~)
I'd offer to read The House in the Cerulean Sea too, but I just finished that last week so it's still a bit too fresh in my mind for even a reread haha.
Hi, I was wondering if anybody would like to read Crooked Kingdom, The Near Witch, or The Hero of Ages with me this month or so?
@VukI'm currently in the middle of The Well of Ascension, when would you start with The Hero of Ages? I think it'll take me one or two weeks to finish The Well of Ascension.
We have a BR for The Well of Ascension scheduled to start Jan 11th and will probably do The Hero of Ages around Feb 11th if you both don't mind waiting.

Vuk wrote: "Hi, I was wondering if anybody would like to read Crooked Kingdom, The Near Witch, or The Hero of Ages with me this month or so?"I am interested in Crooked Kingdom. I would be up for it after the first week of January.
Hailee wrote: "Hope you can make it Soo but if not you'll have our thread to let us know what you think..."
Is the thread up with a date? I think I missed that notification.
Also, we are killing GR because I keep getting the over capacity message. lol
Hailee wrote: "Perfect 😊. I was thinking of starting sometime around the 15th but basically any date after the 9th of Jan works for me. Any preference?"No, any time in January is fine with me!

That kinda happens every year... everyone logs in and makes their 2021 reading challenges/etc that they never accomplish (speaking more of the multitude than us in particular... this is the day/time when millions of challenges are started)

I've read a bunch of Schwab, and Near Witch is available on Hoopla audio, so I'm open to reading it... just say when...

Sword of Kaigen was a pretty good book. If i remember right I read it on kindle because narrator sucked.
Shadows of the Apt: Empire in Black and Gold - What time table were we talking about? 1 book per month? The later books come out towards the end of the year? I may be reading the print instead of audio. Narrator doesn't sound that great for the series. The Sword of Kaigen - Whenever in February is fine. I think I'll get the audio because I can get it for 7.49.
The Everything Box - I'll get the audio, so we can do that later in February.
I'm one of the few that was not blown away by Sword of Kaigen. To me, it wasn't that original and the writing was uneven. BUT it is on my try again list.
Hey everyone, Paula, Laura, Siobhan, possibly Katie and I are going to read Graceling starting 12th January, if anyone else is interested :)
Paula wrote: "Iain, I'd also like to read the sword of kaigen and jade city I'm interested but later on in the year"Oh my gosh same. Both of those are on my TBR. So I'll keep an eye out for when you guys wanna read them. Still trying to finish up some books at the moment ^^;

I’m good with this date too. Can also do the Jade City trilogy time. I’ll have put this all in an spreadsheet so I don’t forget!
Meera, you can create a Buddy Read/etc Tracker in Buddy Read Tracker SectionYou can also join the FBR Team Reading Competition and use the tracker to keep tabs on what you read.
=)

Sounds great to me.
@Gaea - When would a BR for Swordheart work for you? Let me know the date and let's ask for a thread. :)
A handful of us are going to read the Wars of Light & Shadow series by Janny Wurts. A link to the thread in Book Clubs. It's a great, epic fantasy. The plan to read one book per month, starting in January, and toss in the short stories at the end of the year. Please come join us from the start or for whichever book you want to get back into the series.

Yea... there will be a delay in May-June, waiting for the audiobooks in July... and another delay in October...
If we want to read the series without delays, we need to wait until April 24th to start book 1, and then books 8-10 will come out just before the BR in November around Thanksgiving... is that a better idea?...

I'm trying to avoid being biased against the narrator...
I've been listening to Black Hawks today, and it's definitely a home book...
I sort narrators into 3 categories: Books I can listen to at work, Books I can listen to at home, and Books that don't hold my interest in any situation... alot comes down to the narrator and sound quality and how close I am to needing earbud replacements... as long as it's not the 3rd type, I can manage...

Sword of Kaigen Feb 1st, and Jade City July 28th, is what I decided, I think... the dates I picked are on the previous page... there's enough interest in Sword of Kaigen that I don't want to wait, and Jade City lines up nicely with the release of the 3rd book, so we can all do it together...you and Paula can find a better time for Sword of Kaigen and run another BR, I hope :) :(
EDIT: nevermind... Paula accepted Feb 1 for Sword of Kaigen... does that work for you, too?

Ah damn! I already read half of it and really enjoyed it, but then stopped, because I hadn't had time for non-audiobooks... I hope the narration works for me!

Thanks for the update Timelord! I've updated my schedule. And yes those dates work for me too :D
Geez, I normally put only a month or two for the Buddy Reads on my tracker thread. Right now, I have things lined up for the whole year. I usually plan for 2-3 months. Have that linked & updated on the first post of my tracker and then use the Master/Montly list to update my post as each month comes around. It's less stuff on there that way. Right now, the first post is like two pages long. lolMay have to hide the rest of the year under a spoiler tag. Hahahah
=)
Laura wrote: "@Gaea - When would a BR for Swordheart work for you? Let me know the date and let's ask for a thread. :)"I'm really good with starting whenever! I have nothing scheduled this month haha, and T. Kingfisher's books are just soooo easy to read <3
Swordheart has 60 chapters and an epilogue, and about 420 pages, depending on the edition (or so GR tells me). How fast/slow do you want to read it? We could aim for, say, 10 chapters a day maybe? (Seriously, I'm open to any suggestion. Considering how quickly I read the author's other books, it probably won't take me more than a few days for this.)
@Gaea. How about we start Swordheart this Sunday? I'll request a thread and we can move over there and plan the read. :)
@LauraHeh, I was being a little cute, but perhaps we shall Beware the Ides of February. Does February 15th sound alright?
@Melissa - yep. sounds good to me. :) And how is Wayfarer? That series is on my shelves and I've read only book 1. Maybe I could catch up with you in time for book 4.
