and a couple of books by Stephen King: The Shining and 'Salem's Lot.

Would anyone be interested?

Great! February or later is fine with me, Marit. Do you have any preferred date - say, later in the month?

message 5863: by Marit (new)

Ahh I'm not sure. I've got really important finals coming up, but the dates haven't been announced yet. They could be in Feb, could be in March... They're supposed to be announced this week
So can we please wait till then to set a date?
I'm sorry for this guys😔

Great! Let's read "Muder on the Orient Express" then, since it's the one I'm most excited to get to, as well.
I've only participated in a couple BRs in the group and I'm not sure about the procedure. Should I create a thread in "Stand alone BRs"?

edit: just found the google form for requesting BRs

No, I haven't yet, I thought of waiting a couple days in case anyone else that wants to join prefers a different date. Do you guys have a preference? A couple weeks from now would be fine for me, that's why I suggested December 20th but I don't mind moving it a bit earlier or later in the month.

Sterling (sterling1989) | 272 comments A few of us are planning on reading the Mistborn trilogy starting on Friday, December 11th.

The Final Empire

Everyone is welcome to join 😁. We're a very relaxed group, who don't always read at the same pace. So there is no pressure on that front, just be sure to use spoiler tags on posts talking about specific story elements.

message 5894: by Caylah (new)

Caylah Coffeen | 3 comments Hi, I'm new here. Would anyone like to read a Steampunk mystery, slow-burn romance with me? The Case of the Dragon-Bone Engine I was a beta reader, so I've read multiple versions and have lost a bit of motivation to read the published version, but I want to, so I can leave a fully up to date review. It's very well written, unique worldbuilding, fun! Anyone interested? The author also has a free short story from the same world up on her website if you'd like to get a sense of the style: https://galadrielcoffeen.com/magic-an.... I was thinking of starting next weekend, Dec 19th.

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments A while back Narilka asked me if I figured out what books I'm reading next year. My current habit is to use the Team Challenge Tracker as my current TBR. It's handy for that! =)

Then I'll pop in here to see what people are looking to read and check the scheduled BR's each month to see which ones I may want to join.

Anyway, I've put together a list of potential books/series I want to read.

Link to Soo's 2021 Potential Reads Lists

Let me know if you want to BR any of these. I'll post the Standalone Novels here:

Standalone

- The Wrack by John Bierce
- Elsewhere by Dean Koontz
- Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman
- The Bone Maker by Sarah Beth Durst
- Make Me No Grave by Hayley Stone
- Among Others by Jo Walton
- The Company Man by Robert Jackson Bennett
- Corpies by Drew Hayes (SuperPowereds World)
- Children of Earth and Sky by Guy Gavriel Kay
- Forging Hephaestus by Drew Hayes
- Carter Beats the Devil by Glen David Gold
- Medusa's Web by Tim Powers
