Buddy Read Invite (Retired)
Laura and I are planning to read The Way of Kings starting around May 16. Would anyone like to join us?
Would anyone else like to join us for a buddy read on the 20th of May for
Threads' up at https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I mentioned this in another thread, but is anyone interested in the new DFZ novel? I think I'd be ready to start it around the 22nd.. Night Shift Dragons by Rachel Aaron.
^_^ does the start date sound okay? If I can finish the Echo of What was Lost a little earlier, I’ll let you know, but I thought I’d give myself a buffer.
If anybody is interested in reading 1Q84, The Hero of Ages, or The Raven Boys with me I would greatly appreciated it! I'm also open to just talking about books or any suggestions y'all got! <3

Awesome Iain, I'll get it set up :) I was going to call you out specifically ("would anyone (ahem... Iain) like to read..") but I didn't want you to feel obligated haha. Looking forward to it!

Haha, I called him out specifically on my BR tracker! Oops.... :D(in my defense, he's the one that brought the book to my attention)

I can't even remember how I stumbled onto the book... I think I was clicking around, after finishing Last Bastion... as soon as I saw it, I knew I needed to mention it... even tho she pre-announced the release in Early April, I was unaware, because she doesn't have releases announced a year in advance, like Big Publishing House Authors...

Is anybody else interested in getting into the Elric verse by Michael Moorcock?I have this
edition that is, I believe supposed to be a starting point but I've somehow put of starting it. I think it might be good for a BR.
Doesn't neccessaily have to be right now, sometime in the next few months would be ok as well. :)

Let's plot out the BR for Battle Ground #17 of Dresden Files. =) How about October 6th? It is slated to be published on September 29th. Give people a week or two to get a copy and read.
Soo wrote: "I'd join in for that, Bea. I've been meaning to get into that series for ages."Awesome! Do you have any preferences for a starting date? I don't really care, I just have to finish a few books right now. Any day in June or later should be fine :)

Those are literally at the bottom of my physically owned priority list, so I'll be stalking your thread to see if I should hang onto them haha.

I'm definitely in for this, and there is already a buddy read set up for October 6th.

Haha, I thought we did but when I went to look for the thread, I didn't see it. Never hurts to check right? =D LOL
Soo wrote: "Bea, I can start Elric in June. You want to start around the beginning of the month?"How about 1st June?
Niki Hawkes wrote: "Bea wrote: "Is anybody else interested in getting into the Elric verse by Michael Moorcock?I have this

Is there going to be a buddy read for the new Suzanne Collins The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes? It is on my definite list, but my overflowing book stack has commanded my attention for a few weeks.

Good luck!

Bea, June 1st works for me. Are we going to read the whole series? I'll be reading this one vs listening. So, probably be a little slower than my audio intake. =D

I'm not sure yet, depends on how much I like the first book.
Do you have the same edition btw.? Because I think there are different editions and I'm not sure if they all include the same stories.
Well, you read a lot faster than me anyway, so that's probably not a bad thing 😅

Charlie wrote: "Rob wrote: "Is there going to be a buddy read for the new Suzanne Collins The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes? Depends on whether or not people are going to show up from the Waking Fire Buddy read actually kicks off on the 25th. If it doesn't then I do have time around that date.
Everyone who signed up for Waking Fire in or push it back? We Scheduled the buddy read in an alternate universe when the days didn't merge together all as one :)
@Rob how about 29th for The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes that way there's some time even if you do read something on the 25th?

I absolutely adored BSG and this author has set a tall order by referencing it, but sometimes you've got to roll the hard six.
