Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments Anyone want to read Terminus #4 of Threshold Universe by Peter Clines? It's coming out on Audible on January 30th.

Narilka? Iain?

I enjoy the series. It's good SF. =)

YES... sounds like it has more connections than the 3rd book did, which is great... #3 was my least favorite so far...

message 5067: by Soo (new)

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments Dead Moon? Yeah, I barely made a connection between that one and the other books.

When do you want to read Terminus? I have it pre-ordered on Audible. =D

@Elizabeth and @Hailee

May 1 for Mistborn and May 15 for Priory are perfectly fine with me. Sorry for the late reply. Wooop :)) there are so many ppl interested in Priory....

Would love to read this one, but Feb. may be a bit hectic for me ^^;

Also...with this series isn't it a part of a larger universe? Can you start this one first? Just curious~

It's going into my audio rotation for sure. I'm a bit lot slower than you guys but would love to have a place to share thoughts. Based on the release date and where I'm at in my current audio I think I'll be ready sometime first week of Feb.

It is a prequel to the Mortal Instruments series so basically yes you can read it without reading other books from Cassandra Clare.

If not February then when are you planning to read it?

I'm interested in Raven Tower and Ann Leckie in general, after reading Imperial Radch last year...

I've already read Foundryside, and am eagerly awaiting Shorefall, this year...

Rage of Dragons sounds interesting, and is a light commitment, being so new (like Foundryside)...

I've already read the first 3 Malazan books, but I'm planning to re-read them this year, and buckle down and finish the main books in the series...

So, I'm open to doing 3 of your 4 books, but I probably won't have time for any of them until at least February/March... Yanique is talking about reading Malazan this year, too, and I was planning to start with her...

Soo is also talking about continuing Malazan this year, but I'm not sure that she's planning any re-reads...

message 5076: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) | 1229 comments I at some point need to read Malazan 2 but no idea when I'll get to it.

message 5078: by Twila (last edited Jan 17, 2020 04:50PM) (new)

Twila | 142 comments @Iain: I can't really read anything until Feb either. Which date would you suggest? I'm good at any time!

If anyone's planning on reading the Malazan series, I'll happily wait and join in book 2.

Me, Yanique, and Soo are all planning to blaze the series at speeds most others probably can't handle, but we can definitely meet-up when we're doing book 2... me and Yanique were planning to make a general series thread, instead of monthly book threads... but we haven't nailed down many specifics, yet, just a tentative plan 2 weeks ago...

message 5081: by Bill (new)

Bill | 2150 comments I’ll ask for a thread for Tuesday and then we can read whichever day ends up working for you.

message 5082: by Twila (new)

Twila | 142 comments Alright Iain, sounds good to me. I'll keep an eye out for when you guys start.

message 5083: by Soo (new)

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments Terminus - First week of February works for me. =)

What day would work best for you guys? I'm thinking February 6th? It's a Thursday. That will give me a few days to read the new Rockton & Pendergast books that are coming out on Tuesday. Bwahahaha

Malazan of the Fallen - I'm up for re-reading the first 4 and trying to finish the series this year. When are people thinking about doing it? It takes me a bit longer to listen to the books because I have a love/hate reaction to the different story lines. Some are captivating. Some are dull as dirt but still have to be absorbed because details matter. This probably means I'll take anywhere from 2-7 days to read a book.

When do you want to do Malazan? Starting sooner is probably better than later because we can plan time cushions in between the books.

Wheel of Time - I decided I'm going to knock this one off my TBR. I got stuck on book #10 and never finished it. Planning to get the audios & knock them out this year. If anyone wants to join me for that, let me know. =)

I have Rage of Dragons in my TBR. I won't be ready until April to read it though. If you guys can get something earlier, go for it.

message 5086: by Soo (new)

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments I have Rage of Dragons on my list too. I may join that BR depending on date.

@Narilka, ok! Let's see what Iain says. =)

message 5087: by Twila (new)

Twila | 142 comments I'm in no rush to read anything, I just wanted to start planning out my reading year :) Narilka, April works for me!

As for Malazan, I agree starting sooner is probably best. It's a looong series. How about end of Feb or beginning of March?

Sorry for leaving you guys in the lurch. My grandma died this week, so I disappeared from Goodreads for a while.

Also, would you mind doing a summer binge instead? My schedule is more open then. As some arbitrary dates for a 2-week schedule, how would this sound? May 16, 30, June 13, 27, July 11, 25

Already read that, and it's my least favorite in the series (sorry to be a downer)... but this reminded me... anyone want to read To Be Taught, If Fortunate by Becky Chambers?... standalone sci-fi novella...
