Hi! The book I’m looking for is about a man who is in a coma, and he perceives the whole thing as if he were in a jungle/desert/some kind of tribe (not sure). When the chief physician and the other doctors come to visit, they discuss by his bed that he soon will die. The man in the coma thinks that these people are the members of a tribe who sentence him to die. When a nurse moves him and percusses his chest, the thinks he is being beaten.
I guess the subject of the book is whether a person in a coma can hear/understand/perceive the world around him. I haven’t read it, I heard a doctor talking about it a year ago.
The author might be English/American/French?
