4. I had to learn to write with my left hand when my right hand quit working. Years later a friend noted the lifeline on my right hand ended abruptly, while the one on my left hand was long and unbroken. I wrote this in to my book - i.e. which hand are you going to choose?

4. In 2018, I visited Egypt for the first time. It was my first solo trip. The weirdest part was being escorted through a town with a police escort and accompanying SWAT team! I understand the tourist board wanted us to feel protected, but I just wanted to sight-see and buy stuff! I'm returning to the land of the pharaohs in 2019.

I love reading gothic and early horror fiction as well as crime and mystery.

My name is Vela Roth. I read a lot of genres, but my favorite will always be fantasy romance, which is what I write.

I find PC gaming, especially fantasy RPGs, to be a great creative boost or cure for writer's block.
