On spanish version of this book the date of publication does not appear. In the english version the first publication date is 1996.
Besides, the spanish correct form for the title is "Golpe de efecto". (http://www.worldcat.org/title/golpe-d...)

I took the info from the spanish isbn. I don't have the book. I think that 384 pages is the final of the story; it's an assumption.
