Smiley (reader2009) | 7 comments To my surprise, The Goodreads Team sent a message on May 7 to notify me on the edition language of "Comrade Loves of the Samurai" in which I once verified and changed from "English" to "French" in the edition language slot on November 30, 2013. I've never since changed the slot back to "English".

Would my Goodreads friends see to the matter and help me? Please visit my book's review website: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

I'm wondering if I have any misunderstanding there, especially in the "edition language" slot.

I appreciate your help and advice.

Best wishes,

umberto

Koenraad (koenraadkelemen) | 6993 comments Umberto,
The 'edition language' field is for selecting the language in which the specific edition of the book you are editing was written, not the language in which the book was originally written or is translated from.
So if the book you are editing is an English translation of a book originally written in Japanese, the language should be listed as English (and it does not matter if the English translation is based on an earlier French translation as seems to be the case here).
