Robyn McGhee I sorta agree... I was really surprised when people loved this book so much. However, I stuck it out for Glass Sword and was really glad! Mare finally has a personality!

Elizabeth Yeah I agree. I don't know how this book is so popular. To me, it seems like a rip off of Red Rising but not even close to being as good as Red Rising. The sentence structures really bother me as well. I gave the book three stars last year and I'm currently reading book two just to see if the book series will get better. Is it just me or does it seem like there isn't that much talking in this book series. When I say this I mean by the constantly and continuous long paragraphs throughout the whole book.

deedee megadoodoo I agree. I didn't like how the "love triangle" played out, the main character and her decisions didn't make any sense to me, the plot and the events were all over the freaking place--it felt as if there were two books smashed into one-- and then the whole electra complex was kind of crazy and questionable on the author's part.

I didn't feel the writing was that bad and I really liked the idea of red bloods, silver bloods, and an elite society. However, it's definitely one of those books where the first one hundred pages are top-notch awesome and then it goes down hill from there. As if the author worked really hard on the part of her book that she sent out to different publishing houses and as soon as she got hooked up with a publishing house and the promise of pay, it was rush hour from there and it was time to not take as much care into the rest.

Alicia Barnette Oh hashtag my people. Where have you been hiding?

Alicia Barnette Red Rising ripoff absolutely. Someone should tweet it to Pierce or something.

Ms. Anderson Disliked it. YA novels are pretty bland these days anyways, what with the overused dystopia and love triangle ideas.

Like Zoe above, the writing style of this book was pretty okay! I liked the flow.

Alane Adams Totally agree. DNFd early.

deedee megadoodoo I have a friend who really likes this book and if she was reading the review that you linked, the one I'm reading now and having a blast, my friend would die young of a heart attack.

Fatimah I agree with this discussion. I really didn't see the hype that everybody else saw. It was so boring in my opinion. The only thing I probably enjoyed was the ending, that was surprising and unexpected.

Well if you're telling people that they do not have good reasons for hating it, that's not respecting their opinion. People are going to have different opinions, not everyone has to like it but don't say they are making a big deal out of nothing.

Ok so I'm not responding to step on anyone's toes but I need to just point a few things out.First, I have some good reasons for why I didn't like this book. Secondly, I would say that this forum isn't making a big deal out of not liking Red Queen because this isn't a huge forum and that it doesn't have constant traffic flow. Honestly, before I saw this forum I thought I was the only one out there that didn't like the book but I was happy to find a place to freely express myself with not judgement. And I'm happy that you enjoyed the book but not everyone is going to love it. And yes it's a very popular book but everyone isn't going to be on the same page. It's like saying there isn't anyone out there that doesn't like Harry Potter. There is always going to be someone out there that doesn't agree with the majority. And honestly, no author, musician, or producer is perfect and shouldn't expect everyone to love their work. Like I said before, I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes, I'm just trying to point a few things out.

****Kelly***** The beginning was awesome then I started sinking into the depths of boredom. To be honest I have also most no idea how it ended even though I read it cover to cover

****Kelly***** Also can we please try and get artists to make covers with something other than a crown on it???? I'm telling you they first time I saw this cover I thought the princess diaries had added a dark twist.
