Yaaresse | 90 comments Can someone explain when editors should be listed where the author usually is listed on a book page? I'm asking here because I think this listing might need correction, but I'm not certain.

For Rough Road Home, Robert Gingher is the editor. This is a collection of short stories, the twenty-two authors are listed on the cover. So would the GR page really list every single author or just have something like "Robert Gingher (Editor)"?

I notice that later is what was done with this book:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8... (By the way, the description for this book is completely lame and useless. Surely there's a better one available?) OTOH, this book lists all the authors:

Which is considered the proper/best format?
(And is there a better place than this comm for GR users to find answers such as this?)

Abcdarian | 26579 comments The 27 Views of Durham book doesn't have an editor named in the book, but if there is one for a collection of stories, they get first listing. This makes combining different editions easier. The authors included can then be listed after or not. It's nice to have them, and they will be added when requested; there's space for up to 50.

Fixed the description on What is Secret & added Editor for Robert Gingher.

Yaaresse | 90 comments Thanks for the clear explanation. That makes sense.

This group is the best place to ask questions about usual Goodreads Librarians policies and practices (although better in the folder with that name, so I've moved the thread). You can also search the Librarian Manual. The relevant section in this specific case is https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/2...

But it's always ok to ask in this group, or to request more details or clarity here.
