ABANDONED. Ghost stories book one being about a man who dug up a grave to get a ring of a lady's finger and cut off her finger

So I read this ghost stories book when I was around 10-12 which would have been around the year 2010-2012 however I believe the book was older and may have came out in the nineties? I'm not sure though. It was a paperback book. The cover was white with red borders and had a picture of a skull on the left hand side of the book cover. I think the title was something along the lines of 'true ghost stories' or 'real ghost stories', but I really don't know. The book consisted of lots of ghost stories and I only remember a few of them. I remember one being about a man who dug up a grave to get a ring of a lady's finger and cut off her finger but I don't remember the rest. The other one I can remember was kind of like the the story of the belmez faces, about that lady that found faces on her kitchen floor however I think this story in the book was titled differently, something like 'faces in the floor' maybe. I think I may have gotten this book from my school library.

Sounds like probably one of the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark books by Alvin Schwartz. The covers of these books are how you described....Just a matter of figuring out which volume/edition it was? "Rings on her Fingers" was one of the stories in the first book, I believe.

I've already looked at these books and I don't believe it was one of them, I don't think it was a popular book as I can't find it anywhere

I read all those as a kid and it really does sound like "rings on her fingers"!

The story about rings being cut off of a corpses hand is a very old tale. A lot of books include different versions. Could the book your looking for be called "True Ghost Stories" by Paul Dowswell and Tony Allen? There is a skull on the cover.
