According to rules, only top three stories make it to the poll. However, the difference between stories namely, “Visit to Nowhere”   and “The Grave of Ulalume”   was very small, only 0.1, so it was decided to include both. This is why we are having four stories in the poll.

The calculation of points wasn't carried out based upon the simple Arithmetic Average. Since a lot of members didn't rate all stories, the number of ratings was different for each story.

Hence the selection of the top stories was based upon adjusted arithmetic average which minimized the effects of this disparity.

In simple terms, rating by a person [ suppose A ] who had rated 6 stories carried slightly more value/weightage than rating by a person [suppose B] who had rated only 1 story.

Use of Adjusted Average did not affect the top two stories, it only swapped the stories on third and fourth position. since all four are included are in the poll, there shouldn't be an issue. However, If some author has any reservation and wants to know the details, feel free to contact me or @Maira.

This time, no plenty was imposed for diverting from the theme or exceeding the word limit.

PS: Commenting to stories has been temporarily disabled. It will be resumed once the poll ends. After that, If they want to, the authors will be free to interact and reply to comments made, in a civilized manner. :)

@Rao, sbar boy. I'll be making the announcement soon, making the cover right now . We'll be giving away names of top authors only. others are free to reclaim or not to reclaim their own stories. :)

Plus don't post other authors name without their consent, even if you know it somehow. :)

I thank everyone who voted for my story "The Debt", and honoured me with their invaluable input. Your appreciation meant a lot to me. Thank you.

I also thank all the authors who participated in the competition. There are is no one winner, but all of us who participated. I enjoyed reading all the stories and hope to learn from them.

And thank you moderators for arranging this activity and giving us an opportunity to write and improve. :)

I would like to thank all the authors; Tribal, Aakash, Asad, Rao, Sara, Saqib and Q.M. for their participation. I enjoyed all the stories, all of them were good, some slightly better than others. Bear in mind that selection process is very crude so if your story didn't make to top. It doesn't mean it was a bad story. Work on your weak points and better luck next time. I hope you guys got to learn new things n had lots of fun.

I would also like to thank the top readers who read all the stories and rated them; Abdullah, Amna, Asad, Humera, Maira, Nadeem, Nigham, , Sadaf, Sara, Yusra plus Zarshall Sameea Rao who almost rated all. :)

congratulation to the winners. i agree with Faheem on this. each and every single story was a work of art so in their own way they are a winner :) some tweeking and slight changes will make them excellent.
It takes courage to present your work, creation or art for the world to read and critique on so for that reason only everyone is a winner a way :p

Only Tribal won, the others were second n third, respectively. It should have only 3 but there was a stalemate between two stories, so instead of having a tie breaker round, we included both since there already was a clear winner of the contest.
