Started it today. got to chapter 6 (view spoiler)[ I cant wait until we learn more about the dementors, so far they don't sound that bad. I've seen the movies so I know they are truly horrible. I loved the scene with crookshanks. Its nice to know where the cat came from and why Ron hates it so much. I teared up a bit when hagrid got announced as a teacher., GO HAGRID! (hide spoiler)]

On my phone it's the same as on this computer. I simply put < and type in spoiler and then put > just like I do here. Then at the end I do the ending the way you do on here too, which I'm sure you know is < and the forward slash then type spoiler and then put > I'm sure you've already tried that, but that's all I have to do.

Finished it last night. THis is so far my favourite HP book.

I alos like the redemption of crookshanks. It really shows how sometimes animals read other creatures way better than we do. (hide spoiler)]

I agree with Suzy. I love all of the wonderful details we find out about the magical world in this one. I am not sure that it is my favourite though. I don't know if I have a favourite. Hmm....must think on it.

Just finished chapter 13. It is so well crafted. I have always been aware of the friendship between hagrid, harry, ron and Hermione but I love the glimpse into (view spoiler)[ hagrid and Hermione's relationship. I never really noticed it before on a one on one level. I love that she went to him with her troubles and tears. And I love that Hagrid cares enough about all three to mention it to ron and harry. That was so sweet of you to slow down for me. I finally got it started. Summer vacation is my friend. I hope to finish it by tomorrow night so I can be done with it before I leave for Hawaii EARLY Thursday morning.

I love how Rowling gives us a BASIC review of what's going on in Potter's life prior to this book.

Does each book start with summer and end with the end of the school year? That's what happened in book 2 and this one.

Seriously if this book was more realistic and written differently, it was be a tear-jerker story of a terribly abused child. It is still awful and I feel so sorry for how the family treats him! Rowling gives some pretty interesting introductions to the magical world at the beginning of each book. I think the intro I book five is my favourite.

When you re-read do you find things you didn't the first time? I know I forget so I could easily re-read and feel like they're new. But I mean where you go, "ohhhh, I missed that the first time!"

I love these books. I've started reading the first one to my son before bed. It's slow going but hopefully once school is out we can pick up some speed. I have read them so many times I've lost count. You do miss things the first time thinking that its not that important and then when you re-read it sinks in. The movies didn't do these books justice.
