So last month, I decided I wanted to test the hypothesis that romance is the trending genre to write in these days.
Considering that I rarely read regular romance, unless you can call shifter stories romance, I am not really sure why I bothered. But then again, it was nice to write something other than children's books for a change.
As I am no where near an expert on the subject, I would love your honest critique of what I have written so far.
I have written about 11k words and I am thinking of leaving it as a novella with closer to 20k words.
I would love your opinion on the plot in general and how I can make the steamy scenes better.
When I'm writing, I'm super excited with the flow of the story but afterwards (I'm guessing like most authors) I ask myself if I am the only one who would like it.
My initial plan was to write a merge of horror and erotica but considering I am a woos and scare easily, I think I have flopped on the horror side. I am doubtful about the erotica side as well but I think there's still hope to rectify it.
To be honest, I have been looking for a book like this and I think that's why I find it exciting to write. It's very Afro-European-centric
If you like the preview, please let me know and I can upload the rest of what I have written for you to read.
