As with other topics covered in this book, NoSQL security could take up an entire book itself. I enjoyed the discussion about tradeoffs between application level and database level security, and the impact that requirements like audit can have on this architectural choice. If the lack of standardization amongst NoSQL systems is concerning, the lack of security standards is even more worrisome. Also, complex security models usually result in reduced security, because there is more to know and more get wrong. I am intrigued by Accumulo, which seems to crop up in high-security use cases.
