I know very little about it but I enjoy anything about England in that time period. Those two books I’ll have trouble finding but I’ll keep an eye out for what you are reading and drop you a line if I get my hands on something you’re reading on the subject.
John we could open a Buddy and have it start with 2023-2024 if you like.
If nothing else (buddyless) there might be interest in following comments. Just let me know.

That's a great idea, Lesle. It would give anyone interested a place to post comments and recommendations.
Cosmic & I aim to twin read Hard Times by Charles Dickens, starting on 1 March. If anyone would like to join us they are welcome.

Hi! I was wondering if you can please set up a buddy read for The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton?

It’s perfectly okay. Thanks so much, Lesle!
A two-year-old thread. Would anyone be interested in reading The Magus (1965) by John Fowles? I'm thinking early October (or Octogre) of 2025.
I've got a lot of group reads for October, Jim. But others may have time now.
The book is The Magus by John Fowles.

JamesI’m game to do a buddy read of The Magus. That book has been on my radar for a while. The Collector was freaky! Loved it.
Should we wait until Oct 10th to start?
Maybe others will join in.

Yay! I downloaded the ebook sample of The Magus and put it on hold at my library. I know it’s a longer book so hopefully the line will move. Maybe.
I’ve never done a buddy read so I’ll just follow others’ lead.
