Were you aware of the Ft. Detrick facility prior to the story?

I'd heard of it, but I wasn't very informed about it.

[Robin]

Nope. Never heard of it.

My Dad was assigned to this base for a year and I lived there when I was in the 7th grade. Most of the base was off limits to us as civilians and I never knew why my father was there.

I recall once riding my bike beyond a point that was normally gated (it was mysteriously open that day) and was soon approached and sent back home:) It wasn't until I was older that I discovered it was the Army's biochemical research facility, the only one in the country.

I bet this setting brought back a lot of memories for you, Jonetta.

It really did. It was a beautiful base, too. Our housing was large with lovely views.
