I watched the tv adaptation of this one last Friday. It was very good.

One of my favorite series! I can't bring myself to watch the TV adaptation since it differs so much from the books.

The TV adaptation IS different and I am surprised by how much I like it!
Brooke Shields plays Abby as a widow and former lawyer with a daughter in law school. So the basic character premise is different. It's a trade-off - Some of the repetitive behavior traits of Abby in the books that have begun to annoy me are not part of the Brooke Shield's character. On the other hand, they have eliminated some of the recurring characters from the book and I miss them. Once I accepted the differences, I really enjoyed the two tv movies that I've seen.
fyi - I've read almost all of the books in this series.
