What do you think about Mary's relationship with her father?

T.W.R. Shelton (twrshelton) | 3 comments I appreciate Mary's relationship with her father and the importance he places on her as his daughter and a strong member of his family because too often in that time, daughters seemed treated more like currency than as important members of the household. I think it's different in this case. He trusts and cares for her a great deal.

I agree! I love their relationship. Usually it is the mother and daughter who have a strong connection in literature, while the father isn't very present. I loved that difference with this novel.
