I put myself in as 28th but I'm happy to add you!!
Just let me know :)
I'm on my phone now and won't get to my computer for a few hours. Happy to add you :)
I can always triple up or play next round :)

Please stop in when you can and say hi to your group and your partner.
You can roll for your first theme starting this Friday, July 1st.
Have fun!
And please feel free to ask any questions you may have here in this thread :)

It's not really a road trip theme, just a partner, group type thing :)
You and your partner will give each other a recommendation or two each week after you roll the die.

You can define 'road trip' however you want. If the character(s) go to a few places in the story, take a car trip, plane trip, where the journey is an important part of the story, you should be good :)

Book recommendations only have to be 80 pages or more. Long books may be a challenge for some to read in this shorter time frame. It's 6 books in 6 weeks, so shorter titles might work better for some participants :)

You can do any of the following after you roll each week-
-Read a book recommended by your partner
-Read a book recommended by any member of your group that you found in your group thread that fits your category for the week
-Read a book you found in the General Recommendations thread that fits your category for the week
-Read a book from your shelves that fits the category
-Read ANY book from your partner's 'Read' shelf if the category really doesn't suit you
Have fun and happy reading!!
*Books need to be 80 pages or more

I hope everyone is enjoying it and hopefully finding a few new gems. And some new friends too!
If you have any feedback about the challenge when it's over that you would like to pass on to me, please feel free to PM me or leave comments here in this thread.
I would love to know if you enjoyed it, would do it again (with different categories), and what you would change/improve if anything.
This is my first time creating/running a partner/team style challenge and I welcome any feedback/suggestions that you have if we decide to run it again- thank you!

If you decided to do it again with different categories, I'd certainly be up for another round.

All of us Mods tweaked the original idea until we came up with the challenge as it is now. But you never know how it will turn out until it's underway!
I've got lists of different categories all set in case there is enough interest to run it again (and again) :)

Yeah, l'd definitely sign up again!

Yeah, l'd definitely sign up again!"
Great!

Love the recommendations that my partner has given me each week. Enjoyed all the books !!!

I can't believe it is the start of Week 6 already!
This is the last week of the challenge and therefore no need to roll for this week. You should all have one category left to read, having read a different category each week.
Enjoy your last category (mine is Western) - I hope you find a great read this week!
Thanks again for participating and I really hope you enjoyed the challenge :)
We are making some tweaks to the next round and will probably launch it some time in the Fall (look for sign ups in October).

Yay! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for being part of our trio Amy, I had a great time too!

Mackenzie's Mountain by Linda Howard - So good, very sweet!
Rocky Mountain Heat by Vivian Arend - I've been enjoying this series!
High Country Bride by Linda Lael Miller - I read this some time ago, but never continued the series - take that as you will. I liked it though. ~shrug~
Keeping Promise Rock by Amy Lane - Very good, but lots of angst and drama!
And some historicals for a variety:
Texas Destiny by Lorraine Heath - I loved this book and the whole trilogy! It is a wonderful story!
Only His by Elizabeth Lowell - One of my earlier romance reads and I always remembered loving it. I reread it a few years back and it lived up to my memories - always a good thing!
Comanche Moon by Catherine Anderson - Such a good story!
And I suggested Going Long by Cari Quinn for a different category, but it works here too! Actually any in the Boys of Fall series would work! They came out in groups of three with those three occurring simultaneously. So any of those first three would be ok to read first - Going Long, Free Agent or Out of Bounds.

This challenge is officially over in two days, on August 15th. You get a few extra days to finish up your books :)
I hope everyone enjoyed it- thank you so much for participating!
Look for another round with a few tweaks to the pairing process and a whole new set of categories........sign ups should be posted in mid-October.

Can we have each person in your group assigned a number. So if Fran is number 4.
If I roll 2 dice, (4,4), then Fran picks category 4 books for me.
So that way, everyone in my group gets a chance to pick once for me

We are also looking at going down in a list fashion, so you pick for the person beneath you and you go down the list each week.
I will definitely discuss your idea with the other Mods :)

Yea because even though we were in a group, we were really just a two person team
