Shit! Rose had waited to long to use on of her abilities. She didn't know whether to teleport or take out the fire. She probably should put out the fire but it was burning from a stupid untrained Witch's magic would could potentially only make it worse. No, teleportation. That was it and as the fire spread the students would just have to be evacuated. But then something odd happened. Rose saw a figure in the flames. Her eyes widened as she realised which figure it was. Mason. She shouted for him to go, to get back out, that she would be fine but the roar of the fire drowned out her voice. Soon he was right in front of her. Then he grabbed her and ran them out. Soon Rose was in the hallway. Fiercely checking her clothes making sure no one could see anything they really shouldn't. Luckily all her clothes were only singed in the minor areas such as the hem, sleeves and such. She coughed badly as well but soon it eased as a teacher approached and stood before the door and started chanting. Ah good, a witch that actually knew what he was doing. Rose looked back as she frowned, hearing more coughing despite knowing she had stopped. She saw Mason and now she really saw him, him and his burns. No! Why?! She had failed him! Rose scampered over to him and pressed her hands against his chest, palms flat as she cried. "Mason! You bloody idiot!" She couldn't help but scream. And then Rose's eyes shifted into their ultimate power form. Then, incredibly, she leaned down and yanked his collar away as she opened her small and delicate mouth and actually bit deep into Mason's neck. Rose then used her own unique ability. It was her's and her's alone. It was a unique chemical kept inside her fangs. It was a secret ability that no one knew about. It was closely guarded as only blood relatives stemming from the ancient Vampire King Atticussius. He was her many times over great grandfather. And he possessed a unique ability. The ability to heal anything. It belonged to Rose and her family. All vampires coming directly from King Atticussius bloodline was blessed with this power. Rose then released the chemical. But she didn't let go. Mason's blood..... God it was so sweet..... The best she ever had..... She didn't want to let go as she only wanted to feed from him. But for now her mouth only was attached to his neck, unmoving. Though his blood automatically spilled into her mouth. Her heart sped as she felt conflicted for the first time in her entire life. But Rose was a Dhampir. Not only that she was a pure soul. Reluctantly, so reluctantly she removed her fangs from Mason's neck. Allowing herself a small pleasure she licked his neck free of blood as the wound closed. She then removed her arms from around him and pulled away. Sitting back and watching as his burns and lungs healed. And without knowing it. Rose also quenched his undying thirst for the first time in his entire life. Mason wasn't hungry for blood.

It was indescribable, the feeling of his lungs shriveling up while the burns that covered his body seemed to struggle to heal. None of them were closing up and the pain was becoming unbearable. The coughs racked deeply, coming and coming, not allowing of a single breath of oxygen to make it in. He couldn't do anything but crouch there, close to breathing out his internal organs. Surely, this was the end. There was no other explanation, no other way to describe the searing pain. Black covered his sight while even his sense of smell was slowing falling to nothing. It was as if everything was shutting down, ready to leave behind the stupid body.
Mason was so out of it, he could not even focus on the hands now pressing against his chest, causing him to fall on his back. He couldn't focus on the words screamed in his face. They spoke of something, something that seemed to be directed at him. Through the coughs and striking fear, he allowed the person to do whatever they wanted, yell whatever they desired.
And then it happened. Somehow, he vaguely became aware of the person biting his neck. The blood gushed from the two, perfect bite marks and into the mouth of the being hovering above him. Then something extraordinary began to happen. As the lips sucked away the blood pumping through his veins, it was as if it was sucking the poison from everything else. He began to suck in air. Fresh, wonderful, oxygen. Gasping for breath that had been impossible only moments before, he finally felt like the worst was over. The painful marks that plagued his skin also began to disappear. As the blood was licked off of his neck, he began to take more notice in his surroundings, more specifically, in the person licking him clean.
The hunger was gone.
For once, after nearly two decades of wanting nothing but blood, he did not. He did not want any at all. It was a miracle. It was as if his mind was clear for once, not weighted down by the constant desire. Oh, he felt weightless and free, unbound by his identity. Sitting up slowly, his gaze turned intense, his eyes flickering to a bold, sapphire blue. "Ethan?" The voice came out gruff and choked, still healing from the trauma. Confusion and disbelief replaced every blood lust. "..how?"
"What?" Rose said softly as she sat there, dazed. This was the price for realising the chemical. As with all great power there came a great price. It weakened Rose so much she was barely conscious. Also her once bright blue eyes faded into a pale opaque. It was all yin yang really. The more you healed the more was taken from you. Rose was now blind. Oh of course she would eventually heal as her body gathered energy again and the chemical released refilled her fangs but that would take time. Now she was terribly vulnerable. Rose in any case could not answer him. She didn't know he was a Strigoi and even if she had she had no idea of knowing her family's bloodline power would be so strong. Though it was a well known fact that the blood of one Dhampir could ease a Strigoi's hunger for a whole week. Except the two sets of vampires hated each other so they were off limits from each other. Then Rose's pale unseeing eyes closed as she fell back, her cap still on her head as the darkness took her.
As each moment passed, Mason gained more and more of the strength that somehow, Ethan had transferred into him. While the rest of the wounds began finished healing, he found himself feeling with more strength. Strength not stricken by the disease of thirst. Blinking a few times, to fully gain control of all the body systems that had given up moments prior, he also began to see the boys body falling back before him.
"No, no, no." He began to mutter, along with a string of curses. In all honesty, he had no idea what was going on. Whatever he had inserted into Mason, it must have drained him or something. It all was too complex to be understood by Mason, when he had little idea of what exactly the boy had done to help. Crinkling his nose, he watched the boy lay there, not moving. "Help, we need some help over here!" He turned, calling out to some nearby people. A few rushed over, one being specialized in this kind of thing. The girl began to move over Ethan's body, prodding and poking, mumbling witchery under her breath. "Weak.." The woman spoke occasionally, as if talking to herself. "Drained.. Ah, .. " Mason rose to his feet, nothing pounding in his chest because he did not have a human heart. But he felt as if it would be, if he had. The desire to run, run until he could move no more, filled every inch of him. He would never stop though, because nothing was limiting now. Nothing could stop him.
The male Witch that was also a teacher and who had put out the fire came over. He stopped and looked down at Rose for some time and then sighed. "Oh honestly Silvy it's no big mystery the boy is drained of energy. Any fool can see that." He said exasperated by his fellow colleague. Then the teacher actually did something. He picked Rose up who appeared to be smaller then ever and headed towards the infirmary. Once there he hooked Rose up to a special blood cocktail that would help her regain her energy. Tucked into the bed with the IV in her hand Rose was pale and almost elven like. Her body started gathering and harvesting much needed energy. She would be all right in the morning though. How long her blindness lasted remained to be seen. But for now she was alone and literally in the dark.
Despite the desire, and the urging to get out of there, Mason didn't. Half because he didn't want to exhaust himself, half because he felt a certain responsibility for his guard. Even though he still would like him to disappear, the smallest bit of Mason felt grateful as the witch doctor carried away his body. Running a hand through his hair, he stood there for a moment longer, realizing that his body was now as good as new.
In the end, he was curious. Curiousity sent him to the infirmary. He couldn't say that he actually cared for the boy, but he had to know what it was about that bite that heeled him. Why had the guard even bit him in the first place? None of it made sense and he would search until it did.

His footsteps echoed off the hallways as he entered the empty room - well, the room seemed empty at first. It was a pale gray room, with beds and materials thrown everywhere. Stepping inside, Mason headed to the only occupied bed. Dropping down beside, in an empty chair, he sucked in a deep breath, falling victim to the guilt of causing this in Ethan. Placing his head in his hands, he glanced sideways a few times to sneak a peak at the boy.
Rose moaned softly as she stirred awake. She opened her now opaque eyes. Blinked and then reached up a small pale hand and rubbed over them, trying to get the obstruction out. She sat up groggily and yawned hugely as she ran another hand over her neck. Rose took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "Where is the bloody light switch?" She asked absently to no one in particular. In fact she believed herself to be alone so she was really just muttering to herself really. Then a vivid memory flashed before her mind's eye. Her uncle had bitten her to heal her from her Strigoi attack. He had been left blinded for a whole twenty four hours afterwards. She had been in such bad shape he had deemed it necessary to heal her with the bloodline trait. Rose groaned and smacked her face loudly with her hand. "Great. Just bloody great. Now I'm blind and alone for the next day." She said again mostly to herself as she prayed the school gave her a temporary pass from her duties without withdrawing her scholarship.

"Just blind." Mason's voice spread out through the air, covering the empty void of a room. Once Ethan had started moving, he had pulled his head up, watching as the boy attempted to find the light. At first, it was confusing until his words explained it. Leaning back against the chair, he tried not to find the whole situation amusing. It slightly was, despite how it should not have been in any way shape or form. Not feeling like offering anymore information for the guard, he merely rubbed he back of his neck and curiously looked around the room. All of his time here, about three months, he had never actually been inside this room.
Fortunately, he could sit by Ethan's side and not feel the lure of blood. It was amazing, actually. Right now, he could only smell the faint lemon scent of the room. Perhaps a bit of the cleaning supplies.

Rose jumped. Shit everything about her was weakened now. The rest of her powers included or she would have just mimic another species with excellent vision. She then relaxed, taking a breath as her racing heart calmed. "Don't bloody sneak up on people you twit." Rose muttered. She was pissed. He could so easily escape her presence now and also she would need help getting around. And her murder mystery was just getting good! She made a fist and slammed it beside her. Then she looked into the direction Mason had spoken from. "Ah I shoulda let you fry." She muttered coldly before sighing and looking defeated. "I'm sorry..... I don't mean to be rude and hurtful..... Just this is scary and I just know you'll sneak away from me. I..... I never used the ability before..." Rose tried to explain and failed. She puffed out her cheeks before just falling back, resting her hands on the back of her head as she stared at the ceiling. Well, stared at nothing really. "What a mess." She said simply as she then turned onto her side, facing Mason and curled small, closing her unseeing eyes and trying to go back to sleep.
For most almost a good, solid minute, Mason didn't answer. He had to bite down on his lip to hold back a chuckle. Fortunately, Ethan couldn't see the amused expression. If he did, Mason could only imagine the worst happening. Staying exactly where he was, his gaze finally moving back to the boy curled up on the bed.
"You'll need a lot more than words to offend me." Admitting this, he began to play with the hem of his shirt subconsciously. He had to agree with the mess part. This was a complete mess. It was strange that he was blind too, that alone was frightening. "What ability?" Wondering slowly, he furrowed his brow, ready to ask questions despite it looking as if Ethan only wanted to sleep. Mason could understand that. But now was the time for the answers that needed to come.
"I'll try not to sneak up on you anymore." Even though he added this, Mason doubted he would come back to visit. Surely this healing would take a couple days tops. In those days, somehow he would figure out why he did not hunger. This is what he wanted, this was all he ever wanted. Making a promise to himself, he declared that whatever it took, this feeling would become more common, perhaps even apart of him.
Rose refused to answer. She could never reveal her long kept family secret. She opened her opaque eyes and looked at Mason. Or rather, in his direction. Rose looked small in the bed. Not only from her true gender and being injured but because she was practically eaten by the quilt covering her. "You sound more relaxed. But you don't have to lie. You're not coming back here. And I'll lose my scholarship and get kicked out of the academy. Your wish will be granted." Rose replied softly. She had known from the start that Mason didn't want her as his bodyguard and now he would most likely get his wish if she couldn't fulfil the scholarship terms. She sighed as she wondered where she would go next. All the scholarships were now taken. In fact this was the last available one. Rose had no choice really in applying as a bodyguard. Perhaps she should just start working. An inn would be best. She could get a room and a meal as her pay. Suddenly a tear escaped her eye as she thought this and she quickly wiped it away. Not knowing where it came from.
How could he deny what she said? It was exactly what he had been thinking; exactly what he wanted. Or so he thought. Up until the fire, he would have traded a new guard in a moment. It wasn't like he felt real comfortable around this one. But now, things had changed. Secrets were revealed and Mason was caught. He would not let this source of sanity leave him. Not yet, until he figured it all out. If that meant staying here, he was realizing it might, it would be worth it.
"I think you will be surprised." He finally spoke, his gaze already turned away to focus on the clean floor. Something about looking at the boy in such a weak state, sent a shiver up Masons spine. Men were always portrayed as strong and independent. Here, Ethan looked nothing like that. He looked like he was in the need of hot chocolate and someone to help him. Mason could not be that person, not yet. All he wanted was information.
"You have your secrets Mason. And I have mine. I can't tell you. I can't tell anyone. So there's no point really. My life depends on my secrets." Rose murmured softly. She could easily guess why Mason would willingly stay with her. She had glimpsed into his psyche a lot now. The poor boy revealed everything with his eyes. Rose smiled. "Your greatest weakness are those beautiful blue eyes of yours. They tell me everything about you." She said in a whisper. If coming from a female it would have been enchanting and sexy. But coming from a male despite being in disguise was still weird and utterly creepy. But of course Rose couldn't see his face. And what's more she wouldn't hear his reply if any since in the next moment she was asleep and dreaming of flames, secrets and old bloodline gifts.
Oh, but he would tell his secrets. Mason was sure of that. He detected the boys slowed breathing, grateful. Squeezing his own eyes shut for a moment, before opening them to look at the wall across the room, he attempted not to feel completely uncomfortable by the boys words. Well, he was a failure at that. Crossing his arms, he wondered how he had ended up with a homosexual. It was strange, and by that simple comment, he even felt slightly violated. Pushing these aside, with much difficulty, he forced himself to stay there. "You may know who I am, but you don't know everything about me." The answer was sent uselessly into the air, floating their for half a second before dropping to nothing. Bringing his hands up , to his surprise, the purple bruises on his knuckles were gone. Along with the many scars and scraps that ran up his arms and fingers. Oh, strange things were at work.
Rose slept soundly through the night. No one questioned her wearing a cap to bed and even if they did she had an answer ready. It would be a scalp problem. During the night she had remained undisturbed except for one occasion where a nurse came to remove her empty IV. The next morning she awoke and rubbed her eyes, wondering why it was so bloody dark before remembering the night before and her vision that was now temporarily suspended. She realised she should be thankful. There was a small chance she could have died and also be blind permanently. She did not know though the great gift she had given Mason. Sure she had saved his life but also she had stilled his undying hunger. The doctor came in early as she was busy stretching and yawning and telling her he had already filed a report stating she was to be given medical leave from her duties and the school principle accepted this. Having heard of the fire and what she had done for her charge. Mason though was to be given extra homework for lighting an illegal candle. Rose would also be keeping her scholarship as she had gone and beyond her duty as a bodyguard. The doctor discharged Rose and left. Rose was then assisted to the bathroom by a female nurse and had to lie expertly for the woman to leave her be. Rose managed to shower, brush her teeth, comb her hair, bind her breasts and place the black cap back on her head along with getting dressed in a pair of black jeans and black shirt and green jacket with cool black and white sneakers all without help. She was then given a cane upon exciting the bathroom along with instructions to rest and feed and generally take it easy. Rose thanked everyone before walking up to Mason who had fallen asleep in his chair beside her bed. She reached out a small pale and incredibly soft feminine hand and gently shook his shoulder. "Wakey wakey. Their kicking us out. Especially the none patient." She said smilingly and friendly. Her eyes open and a white opaque. A reminder of her deed the night before.
Eventually, Mason had given up attempting to stay awake.
Prior to that, he spent a lot of time mulling over the events of the previous day. In retrospect, lighting his illegal candle probably had not been he smartest idea. He didn't need to the principal to come and tell him it was stupid. Actually, the story of getting that candle was a funny one. The strangest part of it all, that continued to trip Mason up, had to be the reaction from Ethan. Only vaguely could Mason recall the boy screaming something through the fire. Why had he not run?
And then, the whole biting thing. Mason had been bit before, but never had a bite affected him that way. Sure, when things got down and dirty, occasionally various people would pull the biting move. He knew what it usually did, and that, well, that was extordinary. It seemed ridiculous now, thT there had been a need to light the candle and block out a scent. The idea of blood didn't lure him in. It was dizzying, how free it all felt.
Slowly awaking from his sleep, only slightly sensing the touch of the boy, his eyes squeezed open. The clear, sapphire blue gaze shifted up in a dazed expression. Wincing from the sight of his hollow eyes, Mason held back the guilt that wanted to surface. "How unfortunate," pushing himself up, he now towered over the other boy. "Still blind?" Stepping around him, Mason stretched an arm up over his head while yawning softly.
"For another few hours." Rose replied as she took a step back, feeling from her hand on his shoulder Mason's body getting ready to stand up. The coiling of energy and muscles. She then heard a noise of air moving by her head. He had moved his arm but since she herself felt nothing he must touching himself for some reason. She then blinked, a useless action but one her eyes still partook in. She then realised the noise had come from behind her and Rose then turned. She reached out a hand and touched something solid. Mason's chest. She pulled her hand back and then smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, just checking where you are. I don't suppose you would considering wearing a bell huh?" She asked chuckling as she joked. While trying not to blush like a fool at his defined body. Well, he would really think she was bloody gay now. But perhaps that could work to her advantage. She then wondered how she would get around. But this had really been a blessing. Well Rose was a optimist so she forced herself to see the situation as one. She would get the opportunity to enhance her observational skills. She then looked towards the door, or hoped she was looking in the general direction of the door which she surprisingly was. "The doctor said a guild would come to help me... Wonder where he or she is?" Since Rose doubted that Mason would stick around.
One thing Mason began to understand, was if he just didn't acknowledge the small little touches and blushes here and there, he didn't feel as uncomfortable. It wasn't like Ethan could possibly think Mason was gay either, as they had run into that sex situation a few days prior. As long as that was clear, he did not worry too much about the whole gay thing. It was almost flattering, which also didn't help Masons soaring confidence.
Shrugging, despite him not being able to see, Mason reached down to catch Ethan's hand. "Here, put your hand on my shoulder and I'll lead you until they show up." Guiding the unnaturally soft hand up, he lay it against his own shoulder. Turning slowly, he began to walk towards the door, slow enough that it would be easy to follow close behind. The news about a few hours was relieving, much better than he thought hearing that would be.
Of course Rose saw none of this. Only the almost imperceptible of smallest wind movements telling her that Mason was moving. She blushed as she felt his hand on hers and then blinked as said hand guided hers up to his shoulder. She swallowed hard as her hand was placed on a gorgeously toned shoulder after being told Mason would be her guide. "You sure? I mean the guide would surely show up soon?" But then they were walking and Rose decided to drop the matter. After all he made her blind so he could help her out. She took a breath as she frowned. "You can speed it up you know. I have this down pat." She said in her male voice and surprisingly Rose did have it down. Her feet were bare, revealing the same small pale and soft appendages as attached to her wrists. She used the cane to tap the ground a few times, the signals coming back through her bare feet and being sent to her brain was so amazing that Rose was practically using echo location. She had practised years to be able to do this. Her uncle had taught her how. Hours daily she would be trained since Rose was more interesting in the strange then in Princess etiquette. She then blushed as her stomach growled. She cleared her throat and hoped that Mason hadn't heard her but with her downward luck and the fact he was a fellow vampire he surely would.
"I'm sure." His voice came out low and a bit huskily since he had just awoken. A strange taste resided in his mouth. It wasn't unpleasant, just different. He momentarily thought over this, wondering if it was an effect of whatever he had done to him. Walking towards the door, he opened up as Ethan's voice trickled back to him. Raising his gaze to glance over his shoulder at the kid, he merely raised an eyebrow before chucking softly. "I don't think falling would be the best thing for you now." He admitted quietly, stepping into the hallway. Many people were passing, heading to and from the various classes and activities one could take. Which, reminded me I had been skipping way too many lately. Crinkling my nose at the thought of school, I turned to the left, deciding on heading upstairs. Taking notice to the small stomach noise, I faintly wondered if that was human hunger or a bloodlust. "Someone must be hungry," Mason spoke cheekily, reaching up to lightly place a hand over Ethan's as to help him feel the oncoming stairs. Once he walked up a few, his hand dropped and they continued on.
Rose could hear the hustle and bustle going on around her. She looked avidly around despite it being utterly useless. Just a bad habit really. She then noticed Mason's hand coming up and laying over hers. She blushed again before realising there were stairs ahead. Well, he could have just said so she thought as she scrunched her own nose. She then expertly started up the stairs before blushing again. "I haven't eaten since yesterday early evening." Rose reminded Mason as they made their way to who knows where since the place was a maze and Rose hadn't explored it yet. She was hungry for blood to regain her strength but also for human food to just pig out on. She wondered if they would be heading towards the dining hall. She had read on a pamphlet several students would stand with their backs against the wall, these students volunteered as blood donors for the more fangy students. Rose suddenly bumped into Mason as she heard several students running towards them. She held onto his waist as at least nine running male jocks came flying past. She then stepped back. "What is the bloody rush?" She muttered as they bumped into another girl and sent her papers and books flying as she started cursing them.
Their small little trek was in fact, leading up to the dinning hall. It was just past the normal breakfast time, but that didn't seem to stop the students from getting their food. Mason gritted his teeth, agitated by the running boys. If he were to ever act upon his kind, they'd be the first to go. Though Mason didn't mind most people, they were absolutely obnoxious. He preferred a solitary lifestyle, with an occasional girl sprinkled in. While they ran past, Mason vaguely felt Ethan's hands on his waist. A look passed over his features and he not-so-slyly stepped away, out of his grip. "We are almost to the meal hall," instructing Ethan, he moved farther into the building. Soon, the doors opened to reveal an emptying room. Earlier Mason had stepped around the girl with the fallen papers, not caring enough to drop and help. He didn't feel too bad, anyway. "There is blood to your left and human food to the right. Which would you like?" Mason spoke quietly, sweeping his gaze across the room. A couple people stood near the wall, only one currently sharing blood. The other three talked amongst each other, laughing quietly. Mason shifted weight between his feet, his eyes almost regretfully landing on the blond female from before.
As they stood paused Rose tapped her cane three times. She got the necessary information back through her feet. She also added data from what she was hearing and feeling and also smelling. The room was expansive but also packed with tables, chairs, food, drink and people. She then smiled and said excitedly, "Both!" Then she removed her hand from Mason's shoulder and walked towards the line of students. She approached a soft floral scented female. The girl was green eyed and red haired. She wore thick black rimmed glasses and was no doubt a nerd and a journalist. She was also a fairy. Rose then asked for a meal and the girl nodded enthusiastically, obviously enchanted by Rose. Rose then smiled and nodded, taking the girl's wrist much to the other's disappointment. Rose fed until she was full and it was no longer safe to feed from the girl. She then thanked her and walked away. The girl however grasped Rose's arm and pressed something into her hand as she then blushed and shyly ran off. Rose turned, pocketing the piece of paper and heading back over to Mason. Dodging a fellow student who was reading the paper and not looking at where she was going. As she stopped before him she looked brighter and healthier. "Can you tell me what foods are on display?" Rose asked him softly.
During the time that Ethan was away, Mason decided to stand there, not reaching out to talk to any of the other students. Occasionally someone would wave, sharing a smile, but otherwise there was little contact until a dirty blonde girl rose from her seat. Sarah, he thought. She stepped around a few people before approaching Masons side.
"I haven't seen you in awhile." Her velvety voice snuck through the air, drawing his attention more fully towards her. A small, cheeky smile rested on her lips while a smirk played on the tip of Masons. It had been quite some time. Much too long, in his opinion. "We should change that, shouldn't we?" He agreed, straightening his back as his hands slid farther in his pockets. A sick idea formed in Masons mind, reminding him that Ethan was blind now. Perhaps he could get away.
"Are you busy tod-" Her words were cut off by the shadow kids voice. Mason didn't even glance sideways. Holding the girls eyes, as if they could plan how to meet telepathically. He felt the need to help Ethan, unfortunately. "Pasta, Egg rolls and salad." Gently guiding the boy to the rack with the food, he wished to speak to the girl.
Rose nodded and was pleased that Mason helped him over to the food rack. Not that Rose couldn't manage but she had sensed a moment later she was not alone beside Mason. She then said to him, "I want all three. You mind dishing up for me? And what's to drink?" She asked a moment later. Then when Rose was confident the other female wasn't looking she gripped Mason's arm and leaned towards him from her stance beside him. "Don't even think about it." She whispered darkly but also softly. She then leaned away, returning to her own personal space as she waited to hear what the drinks were and if Mason would help place the food on a plate for Rose.
Like Ethan had a say about Masons life. Rolling his eyes freely, because he could not see it, Mason moved over to the food. The least he could do was serve her some of he grub. Not answering, he shot a look over his shoulder to Sarah, as if to tell her to wait a moment. Using the spoons shoved into the food, Mason went at it buffet style. The smell trickled up to his nose, smelling much grosser than before. Letting the pasta plop down first, he steadily added each of the others. "There's water, coke and orange juice." Mason informed slowly, moving along the line. He could feel the girls eyes on his back, probably getting impatient. And, as if an angel was looking over them, a small, petite woman walked over to the two of them. "Ethan? I was told to help guide you around." Her high, squeaky voice filled the empty air. Mason exhaled, unable to hold back the grin that meant his duties were over. Gently handing the plate over to the women, Mason nodded her way before taking a step towards the boy. Leaning down so his breath was beside Ethan's ear, he spoke quietly.
"Too late."
With that, he left. Sarah grinned triumphantly, tugging him by the hand out of the eating hall and up to her room.
Rose sighed. What a guy. Then she turned to her helper politely. "Thank you miss but I believe I shall manage by myself today with my friend's assistance. But if you would be so kind and pour me some coke I would be much obliged." Rose told the woman politely as she smiled at her.
The woman looked unsure but smiled and nodded at hearing that Rose would be assisted by a friend. "No problem." She said in her own unique voice and went about pouring Rose a glass of coke. She then handed her the glass and asked again if Rose was sure. When the same answer came the woman nodded and headed off. Glad she was actually free for the morning now.
With her plate and glass and cane in tow Rose smiled wickedly. She then automatically closed her eyes and searched for a particular sound. Upon hearing it she opened her useless eyes and smirked. She then used her active again power mimicry and teleported to in front of the girl's dorm. Sitting on a bench beside the dorm room door Rose started eating as she waited for Mason and his rather overly scented beau to come. There was also a 'slutty' aroma around the girl. For once Roses' weak nose had picked up the unwelcome guest since she was interfering in Rose's job.

Only half listening to the random shit the girl seemed so inclined to talk about, Mason walked beside her, nodding occasionally. He knew where her room was, along with a handful of others. Before he could even reach the room, the familiar scent drifted to his nose. Mentally groaning, he didn't even question how Ethan had possibly arrived before them.
Their steps soon lead to her door, and just as Mason had thought, there sat Ethan. There was only really one thing to do, ignore him. Placing his hands against the girls shoulders, Mason gently directed her until he was stepping before her. His hands lightly pushed her against the door; one moved to hold himself with the palm against the old wood, while the other slid down her side. His lips came extremely close to hers, yet they were still not touching. Sarah's hand reached for the knob, in which case she began to turn it and allow them in. Colliding their lips, a tangled mess broke out and the figure sitting near was forgotten. Perhaps now, Ethan would know without a doubt that Mason was completely straight.
"You know I don't know why you persist in sleeping with every girl you see. It's not healthy to deny your true nature. Or was I just imagining last night's hot sex between us before the candle interfered?" Rose replied in her male voice firmly and loudly. She finished her pasta and went on to the salad before taking a sip from her glass of coke.
The girl pulled away and gaped. She stared from Mason to Rose and upon seeing Rose's blank but open face after saying that she turned to Mason and looked pissed. She slapped him across the cheek, hard and stepped into her room. "Fucking freak! Don't touch me again!" She shouted as she slammed the door in his face. One could then hear her picking up a phone and dialling a number. The next moment she was gossiping like mad.
Rose winced a bit as she finished her salad. Well. Mason hopefully now learned that there was no escape from Rose's watch. She was his bodyguard and by damn she would fulfil her duty come high or hell water. She smirked as she took another sip of coke and started on her egg rolls. "Whoops." She said softly and unapologetically as several other students stared at them openly.

He had tried. He had really tried to remain nice, even helpful. It was never his idea to have a body guard, much less such a controlling on. His cheek stung from the slap, but he paid it little attention as he turned to face the other boy. Of course the results of this were running through his mind. It might be quite a bit harder to find pleasure, when everyone thought he was gay. Holding back any noise or groan, Mason glared at the boys head. "Who do you think you are?" He spoke quietly, his voice full of venom and the anger he felt. This was ridiculous. There was no reason he shouldn't be in that room, undressing as they spoke. "Maybe if you let go of your jealousy, you'd be able to see a bit clearer." Mason hissed, tempted to hit the guy but ultimately decided against it. He was done with this kid. Completely done. Turning, he left. He headed out of the hallway and down the stairs before disappearing into a crowd of people.
Rose heard his words and the venom behind it quite well. She listened as he left and then amended the situation by laughing. "Oh my that guy cannot take a joke!" She shouted as she laughed before stilling and finally finishing her egg rolls and soda. The other staring students then all burst out laughing, also now thinking it was a joke. Rose got up and headed towards the dining hall. She returned her glass and her plates before heading off to find Mason. She sighed as she walked with her hands in her pockets. Why was she interfering so much? Sure it was her duty to guard him but she was not allowed to interfere. So why was she? Sure she didn't want to hear or see him having sex with someone else but she could always leave. Surely nothing would happen to him while he was busy doing his thing. So why? Rose sighed as she walked. She should apologize. Perhaps she was jealous in her own way? Perhaps she liked him? Perhaps the smell of his blood sent her into a daze? Perhaps his eyes were the greatest mystery she had ever seen and wanted to find out. To make it better.
Maybe he had over reacted. Probably, but he didn't regret it. The words had to be said before Ethan's made some kind of weird gay move. It was strange, now that he had no desire for blood, he almost had no desire to be with anyone more than a few seconds. Nothing held him back, especially relationships. Stepping outside the building, he tugged his hood up over his head and soon slipped into the back of the school. The lake spread out back there, along with the one in the front. Finding a spot enclosed by sheets, Mason slipped his shirt off over his head and hesitantly stepped Ito the cool water. Really, he was too confused about the bite that he needed a way to let it all off. If Ethan would not allow his usual way of clearing his mind, this would just have to work. Diving beneath the water, it consumed him, swallowing his entire body beneath the murky interior. Beginning to swim, he allowed himself to become completely distracted.
Rose searched the entire school. She then rechecked the entire school. Nothing. No sign of the elusive Mason any where. She sighed and realised he must have left the premises since she couldn't hear or smell him either. She also couldn't focus enough to search him out a different way and besides, after teleporting she had used too much energy. She needed to recharge again. With nothing else to do she headed to their new dorm room. Luckily Rose's things had survived along with Mason's. She went in and closed the door, going to sit on the edge of her bed and staring down at her hands which she could not. She then let her mind wonder over an odd discovery. In her search Rose had come across a state of the art gym with all the finest trimmings. So why would Mason use the small shabby one in the basement? He seemed to be such a lone wolf but that made no sense. He was amiable with the other students and was more then amiable with the female faculty. So why was he in the same breath so distant? Really he and Rose were complete opposites but exactly the same. They were both runaways. They both invented themselves as new people. They both had secrets. Perhaps it was Mason's secret keeping him so secluded? Rose was so in thought that she barely noticed how the time fled away. She had spent the rest of the morning and afternoon looking for Mason and had stayed all evening and early morning in their dorm room thinking. So as her hands came into view Rose blinked and frowned. The twenty four hours was up. She looked up as the bright clear blue almost grey of her eyes returned and she could see the wall of the dorm room. She grinned happily. She could finally head out and find the little slippery bastard! She shot up with her smile and headed out of the room. Closing the door behind her she walked hurriedly down the hall. She never realised what was about to happen though. As she reached the second floor and was passing the jock's public bathing room Rose gasped as out of nowhere she was suddenly grabbed and pulled inside by a pair of strong arms. She was thrown to the ground before ominously hearing the door being closed and locked. Then she looked up and saw six huge jocks sneering down at her. "Now you'll learn what we do to faggots like you." One of them said. What happened next Rose would not forget. They started kicking her and hitting her. After ten minutes they stopped at hearing someone coming down the hall. They left Rose on the ground and unlocked the door before closing and locking it again and leaving while patting each other and laughing. Rose was laying in a pool of blood. Several bones broken inside her small body. The footsteps that had disturbed the jocks though was a young girl and thinking something was up she tried opening the bathroom door but when she couldn't open it she stepped back, a frown on her face. She then headed off and to find Mason. She was a Werewolf with excellent smell and she and Mason were sort of friends but not the sexual kind. Mason had helped her out once with a guy who didn't take no for an answer. She found him after a bit and hurriedly tugged on his arm. "Mason something's wrong. Six jocks locked their public bathroom door and your friend is inside. Mason I smelled blood, lots of it and the way they were clapping and laughing with each other and looking so smug and after your friend made that joke....." She told him worriedly, fear clearly in her eyes. Rose meanwhile lay broken on the bathroom floor. The white small squared tiles now painted a bright red. She was too weak to heal, her ribs cracked and one pushed into the soft tissue of her left lung, causing it to fill with blood. She was now drowning in her own blood. Unable to breath she couldn't scream for help. Weak she couldn't heal or teleport. She was afraid and dying. She regretted so much and now there was no way to take it back or even make amends. She would never discover the mystery of Mason's sapphire eyes......
The time alone only got better as Mason greedily consumed more of it. The feel of the water, soaked through his skin and covered all the uncertainty that found its home in his brain. With each breath of fresh air, he could push away all his thoughts and even the small bit of anger he was beginning to develop towards Ethan. Unfortunately, it all ended too soon. Tina, the well known wolf around the school, soon came to interrupt his leisure.
Shaking off a few drops of water that clung to his hair, he had been in the process of pulling on his shirt and pants when the girl sprinted into view. "Mason! You have to hurry." Her words rushed out, ending in the simple phrase that caused a small mustard seed of concern to grow within him. It only took a moment for him to react. Fortunately, he did not have much to grab and collect. Merely nodding, he rushed into the school, guided only by the little girls instruction on how to get there. She muttered something about having a class she cannot miss, before disappearing.
At first, he only felt numb. Why was he attempting to help this kid again? But of course there were secrets he needed, and in a way, he did still owe his life to Ethan. Sucking in a breath, he finally came to the door that was suppose to be hiding the guard. Mason reached for the handle and jiggled it; it became clear that the only way in was breaking the door open. Taking a step back, he began to ram his shoulder into the hard wood. It hurt, but he continued to break through until it finally gave way.
"Ethan?" He called out on repeat, attempting to get some response. His body tumbled into the small room, immediately met by the delicious smell of his blood. Of course now, it did not look so delicious. A shudder spread down Mason's back at the gory sight before him. The boy looked to be floating in his own, scarlet blood. A different kind of anger reached out to Mason, gripping it in its palm. Who could do such a thing, as this? He had always knew there was something particularry terrible about those boys but this seemed to be too cruel even to imagine. Even as he dropped down to his knees beside the unconscience body, a sick feeling developed in his stomach. Though he had never left someone in this state, he had killed innocent people. How could he judge those boys, when he had done much worst?
For the moment, he could not dwell on such thoughts. His first reaction was to access the situation. It was clear that no response could come from the body at this point, only making the situation worst. His hands reached to the various wounds, inspecting the overall damage. Having been in many fights before, he could also imagine some ribs were bruised, if not broken. If so, moving the body would be a whole lot more painful. Mason reached forward while his fingers began to rip the fabric of the other boys shirt, thinking nothing of the privacy of Ethan. But, to his surprise, there already seemed to be bandage wrapped around him.Starting with the lower ribs, he began to check the various ribs, wincing as he came across a few broken. Unable to see the rest due to the covering, Mason began to unwrap the fabric, needing to know for certain how injured he was.
"Shit." The simple word echoed from his lips, coming as complete and utter shock washed over him. It had become all too clear as each wrap of bandage came off, that there was no old injury beneath, but an abundance of breasts. For a minute, Mason crouched there, unable to do anything but stare in shock. He had not completely unwrapped her, but the curves were coming out now, returning to their natural shape. Ethan was not a guy after all, but a girl. One hell of a girl.

Rose had lost consciousness. She had been to tired to hold on any more. So she let the darkness bring her down into it's soothing depths. She was no longer in pain. She was no longer cold. She was no longer alone. The darkness was her friend, her saviour and her future. As blood filled her lungs and cut of her air supply her breathing began to slow along with her heart. She would die. Alone. Beaten and laying in a pool of blood in a public bathroom in a academy far from her home land. Her parents would be so pissed at her, but all she had wanted was to be free, free and have the choice to fall in love with who she pleased. She hoped that one day they would understand. She had a feeling that her uncle might. Maybe he could make them see, one day. Soon though instead of the darkness becoming more, there was a light. It was dull at first. Nothing more then a blurry haze. But soon it got brighter and brighter. Then Rose felt something... A impression. A feeling. A sense of someone. A boy. Blue eyes. Sapphire blue. Mason. He was with her. He was there. He was..... He was touching her. No. He couldn't know! Rose stopped sinking. She battle her way to the surface. Soon the pain grabbed and held her. She let it. The more pain the more she neared the surface. Soon she found the reserved strength from deep within her and reached out, grabbing a wrist. Warm and strong. Mason's wrist. Her small and pale and soft hand curled about his wrist gently. As her bright clear blue almost grey eyes opened they seemed to had found his rich sapphire blue ones almost instantly. She turned her head, blood spilling out of her mouth. "Don't...... I....... I just wanted....... To love...... Whom I choose......." She said and smiled up at him weakly as more blood spilled from her mouth and nose. She closed her eyes and tried to take a breath but only managed to cough up more blood. She turned to Mason. Tears spilling from her cheeks as she felt comforted that she wasn't alone in the end.

Everything made sense. Starting withhisher strange reactions to things he had done, to even the small frame and soft features. It made sense why she had gotten so angry about the sex thing and so surprised when he had walked out of the bathroom with a towel. But how could this be? How did she manage to deceive everyone, when it was so obvious he felt like a fool now? That's what he was. A fool. It was almost comforting to know that he had not been getting hit on by a gay guy. Just a really confused woman.
But why?
Why would she cover up, hiding her identity?
Now was not the time to muddle through these things. The blood streaming from her body only came in more abundance and he was losing time, fast. Doing the only thing he could think of, willing to give her the one thing vampires truly needed, he brought his wrist to his lips. Parting them, he bit down into his own wrist, allowing the peirced skin to bead with blood until it came more steadily.
"Open up, you'll still be able to love who you choose." Mason mumbled, positioning his wrist above her mouth, close enough to allow it to drip in, but also close enough so she could attach if wanted. She had to be saved. It was as simple as that. Cringing slightly from the bite mark, he slipped out of his sweatshirt and began to lay it over some of the worst wounds. It would have to do, for now, until the blood began to help her heal herself. He moved in a dazed fashion, still attempting to comprehend her gender, but also her strange response. She was begging for him to do something, something in which sprung a small idea in the back of his mind.
Rose stared up at Mason. Her vision blurred and black spotted. She saw him bring his wrist to his mouth. How odd. She had thought lazily. She then saw something else. A colour. Red. Red blood welling from his wrist. Her own blue eyes turned, flashing red. She had not had the instinct before. The all consuming thought of preservation. But now, now she did. It was brought out by the one person, the only one whose's blood had ever tempted her. Then the wrist came down to her! Her heart sped up in anticipation. A fierce excitement growing by the second. Soon rich sweet and oh so delicious blood dripped into her mouth, his words half lost. But it was not enough. She wanted more. Suddenly her fangs elongated and she roughly pushed his wrist away as Rose shot up, wrapping her small limbs around him. One hand resting between his well defined shoulder blades, the other on the back of his neck. Her head leaning in and her mouth opening. Soon she found what she was looking for. Again as the night before Rose sank her fangs into Mason's neck. Into the lovely jumping vein. She started swallowing, moaning softly once at the glorious taste. She held pushed him down as well. Now Mason lay on his back on the floor while Rose lay on top of him, feeding very gently from him. Soon bones could be heard snapping loudly back into place. But thanks to Mason's blood Rose felt no pain. Her wounds faded and closed. All thanks to his life giving blood. She held onto him gently, lovingly. Her skin pale and soft against his as they fit perfectly together body wise.
His eyes watched as hers turned the red. It he had to describe it, the only way he could begin to was to describe the violence behind her small, thirsty eyes. He did not mind giving her some if it meant she would live. The blood dripped from his wrist and she immediately responded as anyone would. The evidence of it working came almost immediately. The bruises against her skin began to disappear along with the snapping of her ribs returning to place. He was expecting all of that, but even as it happened, he exhaled with relief.
What he wasn't expecting was her sudden aggression. Falling back with surprise, he soon felt the fangs slip into his skin, piercing the exact spot from before. A small huff came from his mouth but he allowed her to feed. How could he not, when the very action was helping her.
Oh, there was a certain satisfaction from others feeding on his blood. Mason arched his back slightly, titling his chin up to allow her all the necessary room. His head rested, while his eyes slid shut. The only sign that he was aware of her feeding, happened as she moaned; a smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. "Slow down," he suggested after a moment, the words struggling to come through the satisfaction as his hands moved around side, steading the small frame.
Rose was a tad bit preoccupied at the moment. She mumbled something incoherent at his words which made little sense to her right this very minute. She was too busy feeding from his richly sweet blood to pay much attention. Soon her lungs cleared of blood, the soft tissue healing as all her other wounds cleared. Now she looked and felt as before. Cleared skin and pain free. She sighed heavily as she now just fed for pleasure. But soon something in the back of her mind sounded. It was a warning. A warning that taking any more would only weaken and hurt Mason. So she yet again rather reluctantly stopped swallowing and removed her fangs. They retracted back as she allowed herself one more pleasure of licking the remain blood from his neck even as the two tiny holes closed over and vanished. She then smiled warmly and snuggled into his neck, her body still embracing his. But then a breeze from an open window flitted over Rose and her once again blue eyes shot open. Oh shit. She reached down and smacked his hands as she reared and backed away, her now loose cap falling from her head, revealing her long and luscious curly brown hair. She scrambled back until her back hit the wall and she couldn't go any further. She frowned fiercely as she covered her arms over her still bandaged breasts. "Bloody pervert!" She shouted, shocked and miffed as she glared at him. Her full beauty revealed.
Unfortunately, the girl had pulled back too late. Masons smirk turned into a small frown, realizing it was becoming exhausting, giving her all this blood. His body felt drained and a small headache began to pound against his skull. When she finally let him free, he lay there, squeezing his eyes shut as to attempt and allow his body to adjust to the smaller amount of blood circulation.
It was not until she pushed away and shouted, that he really came to terms with what was happening. His eyes slowly opened, an innocent and quizzical expression there. "Wh-What?" He breathed softly after a moment, by understanding her sudden change in attitude. Even as the words came, he couldn't even process as sentence because his eyes were caught on her long hair, watching the way it formed a curtain around her face, shaping it in a much more feminine way than before. It was hard to believe this was the same person as before.
His gaze also fell on the way she held herself, hiding everything from him. In all honesty, he hadn't thought once about her breasts or even the general female part through the feeding. At a loss of words, he pushed himself up into a sitting position, but could not focus . The blood struggled to move about his body, making him dizzy and out of it.
"No, I didn't-." He began, though the words collapsed even as they came.
Slowly, very slowly, Mason's body began to create more blood to substitute the lost amounts.
"Mason? Oh you have got to be bloody kidding me!" Rose began soft but ended in a shout. She had watched Mason intently and realised the warning bell had gone off to late. She had weakened him with her feeding. Feeling guilty she sighed heavily and stood shakily to her feet before heading over to him. She sat down beside him as she quickly dropped her hands and her arms from around her breasts. If he saw them well lucky him. Rose had more important things to worry about now. She then touched his shoulders and brought him forward. She placed a small soft reassuring and guiding hand on the back of Mason's neck and guided his mouth to her neck, the side where she had been bitten by her Strigoi assassin. It was badly scarred, revealing the tearing nature of a Strigoi vampire. But Rose didn't realise this. She still thought Mason was a Moroi and not a Strigoi. "Bite me you dope." She muttered close by his ear, offering him some reprieve since Dhampirs healed faster for some reason. Of course Rose had no idea the danger she was now placing herself in. Her healing chemical had in that very moment been in Mason's system close to two days. Hence, it was busy working it's way out of his system, restoring him to the blood thirsty Strigoi he was. Whether he was at all change remained to be seen as Rose innocently offered him her blood with a bright pink blush on her cheeks as she held him close.
She was so bipolar. Mason didn't want to touch her, much less feed off of her now. Not after she had just freaked out about him laying there. The idea of actually using his energy to bite her, also sounded too tiring, too draining. He simply pressed his lips together, shaking his head. Even if he had a small hunger growing inside, it was still controllable, still small. Whatever she had done to him was fading. It was fading fast, yet, still, it held him back.
The only thing that made him question this choice was the smell of her. Damn, she smelled good. It was as if his body was urging him to do it, do the thing she so willingly offered.
But he couldn't. There was no way he could do it. Not when he knew he wouldn't be able to stop. Not when he saw the scarred skin. It was obvious who would have done such a thing, a strigoi. Mason was a strigoi and had the ability to do that and much worst things to her. Oh, but it smelled so good. It was extremely tempting, having the offer on the table as if it would not matter.
It would matter. It would matter when he went too far and sucked the entire existence out of her. It would matter when he looked back on this day, wondering how he could have done such a thing. Shaking his head again, he scooted away until his back hit against the wall on the opposite side of the room.
"Get away from me."
He suggested, well more like commanded, unable to take the smell of her blood so near. He couldn't hold back if she made it so easy, so accessible. Squeezing his eyes shut again, his breathing began to speed up and his hunger steadily grew. Perhaps, as he had given his own blood to her, his body now ached for it back. Ached to take what was rightfully his.
"What are you hiding?" Rose questioned softly. It was obvious he wanted to. That he needed to. But something was holding him back. Making him scared. But what? What had such a hold over him? And then as she watched his paling skin and his rapid breathing, the hunger igniting behind his eyes she knew. Rose knew his secret. "Your hiding who you are. Like me. Except where I hide my gender you hide your species." It all made sense now. His secretive nature, obvious he was hiding something. He kept to himself. He didn't eat or drink much. Only for appearances. He liked sex, or more importantly the distraction that came with it. People here waved to him and said 'hey' and so would he but he was always keeping them at a distance. The way he would have slammed his hands into that punching bag, why he worked out by himself in a shabby room. Why he wanted to know what she was hiding, how she had healed him so. The pain and loneliness and the fierce soul consuming hunger in his eyes. "Your a Strigoi." Rose said simply. Her face blank. Her voice hollow. Her eyes burning with the intensity of a thousand suns. She should leave. Get away. Far away. But he had held back. He had saved her. He was the one whose's blood made her fangs ache. She saw herself in Mason. Therefore, she could not turn her back on him. Yes they had different reasons but it all boiled down to the same thing. They were hiding from their true selves. She stood and made her way over to him again. She sat down in front of him and looked at him softly. "Mason don't be afraid. Dhampir blood is the most nutritious and fulfilling blood in all the Kingdoms. You'll be full before you hurt me. Please, let me help you." She whispered softly and leaned forward yet again, tilting her head to the side and arching her throat, offering him her blood, her soul, her life, her heart and her love.
His body shuddered. Physically, it shook from holding back. His body wanted to betray him. His body wanted to reach for the nutrition it so desperately needed. Oh, he wanted it. He wanted it so bad it hurt and behind the red in his eyes, he craved her. He craved the blood only inches away, ready to be his. Nothing could go wrong, right? He would be full before it was too late, right? He was a strigoi, but he had more control right?
Wrong.
It was all wrong. Mason knew himself and he knew that the moment he pierced her tender skin, there would be no turning back. Sure, he may not kill her, but you could not just take of ecstasy once. You didn't just stop there. And he couldn't do it. He couldn't allow himself to take a risk, no matter how small of a risk it was, in this moment. No, he could not.
Placing both hands by his sides, he pushed himself up, into a standing position. Towering above her, oh, she was beautiful. Not only did her scent allure him, but also everything else. He wanted her. He wanted her in every way he could have her.
He hated her too though.
He hated the power she now would have over him around every turn. Every moment around her would be a constant struggle. He had to get away, he had to get air for his stupid body.
"No." He spoke, barely audible as he stepped around her and pushed his way to the door. Opening it, he stepped outside, beginning to run. He ran as far as he could, first heading outside again. The air was much butter there, but he also wanted distance from her.

Rose watched as his body recoiled and tensed, signalling movement. Though the movement that followed was surprising to her. She watched as Mason did not lean forward but stand and retreat. Retreat from her and her offer. She frowned as she herself stood wobbly and turned around, watching bewildered as he ran off. Left alone, half naked and in her true gender Rose was left also utterly confused, sad and rejected. But why? Why on Earth would she feel this way? He had every right to tell her to take a hike. If he didn't want her blood then he didn't have to take it. Sighing and looked down at her small bare feet Rose couldn't help but feel sad. She shuffled her left foot over the white tiles before looking back up. Now alone and conscious, along with thinking more clearly Rose could appreciate the sight before her. Her torn shirt and the massive amounts of drying blood practically everywhere. She frowned as she felt her body head over to the scene of where her corpse should have been only moments before. She got her torn shirt and threw it in a nearby bin before setting it alight. She then turned on a hose and washed her blood away. She removed the broken door from it's hinges and set it neatly aside. Besides the door the room held no evidence of the horrors. Sighing again Rose turned and headed towards her and Mason's door. Making sure she wasn't spotted along the way. Then again there were nearly five thousand students here. What did it matter if someone saw her true face? Well other then there being a possibility that they could recognize her as the elusive missing princess. But if they did not they might also assume she was one of Mason's beau's come to visit. Then again she was also shirtless and only wrapped in bandages. Either way Rose didn't have to worry since there was no one in the halls and various corridors. She made it back to their room unstopped. She closed the door softly behind her and headed straight for the bathroom. She stripped from her remaining clothes and threw it in the bin, burning it as well since it was now blood soaked. Even her bandages. She then climbed into the shower were she turned the water onto warm and sat down in the tub, breathing and letting the tension slip from her body as the water soothed and warmed her. After an hour she stood and quickly washed her hair and body before finally turning the water off, hoping she hadn't used all of the academy's warm water. She dried off and combed her hair before brushing her teeth. She got dressed in a pair of pink, white and black chequered night clothes and left her breasts unbounded and her hair loose. She lay down on her bed and curled small, waiting for Mason's return while trying to ease her aching heart and bruised mind from the horrid memories filling the darkness. Memories of the laughter and the pain of the events that had taken place inside that closed bathroom. Soon though other memories and impressions entered her mind though. But these's only left Rose even more confused since they were of a dark haired and sapphire eyed boy. Soon Rose got her book and started reading. Unsure about the future as she lay curled on her bed.

He never made it outside. He didn't even make it near the doors to go outside. His head leaned against the wall while his fists clenched with each forearm placed angrily next to his head. All the students were elsewhere, going on with their lives. It was a rather unused hallway, much to his liking. Swallowing the pain brewing up from his stomach, he found himself questioning his actions. Mason didn't know what was wrong. and he sure as hell didn't know what was right. How could he make a decision when his own facts were screwed and turned upside down. All he had to direct himself was the aggressive pull of his hunger and the experiences of past events. Flashes of each person he had killed appeared before his eyes. Each cried out in pain, reminding him of the horror of what he had done. From the girl in the yellow to the man walking alone. Each had not seen it coming; each had lost the most valuable thing they could ever treasure. His breathing still came out ragged and his eyes tried to block out the images of the others. Not forever, just for now. He didn't want to forget what he had done. No, he wanted to learn from it and become better.
A better person would not turn and feed from their.. friend, when they might just kill that person. A better person wouldn't even be questioning it now. Even as an hour trickled away, leading to his hair flying in every direction from the multiple times he shoved his hand through it, to the constant shift of his eye color. One moment, his hunger blinded him, while the next, he managed to gain some sanity.
Perhaps Mason wasn't a better person.
Before he had made a decision, before he could even find the energy to do anything but lean there against the wall, he was heading up to his room - well, new room. He walked swiftly, swaying slightly from the physical effort used. His energy was dwindling and his mind had stopped thinking. It was as if everything was shut off but his desires.
What he wanted, he would get.
Despite his lack of energy, he easily slipped into the room, not making a single sound. His breath had quieted considerably, yet the hunger had stayed, lurking above him.
The moment his eyes fell on her petite body, he knew there was no going back. Oh, there was no turning around now. She looked so relaxed, reading there was if nothing could disturb her. Half of Mason screamed to stop, screamed that he would regret this.
It was too late. His silent steps lead him to stand in the center of the room, beneath the flickering light above.
"Come here.. please." His voice was scratchy, pained, yet firm. He needed her. He needed her right now.
Despite what Mason thought Rose was on high alert. She didn't want to sleep. Half from fear of the boys returning and half from wondering where Mason was, if he was all right. If he would return. She had been reading a rather lazy chapter from the book when she heard a hand touch the door knob to her and Mason's room. A moment later she heard the door open, slowly, carefully. It closed again and she heard footsteps. Slow but purposeful. She knew it was Mason a moment later by his scent. She remained on her bed though, pretending ignorance as her eyes watched the window. She wondered what he would do. She was so intent on listening for the smallest of sounds she had to breath and focus on not jumping when he finally and suddenly spoke. Rose closed her book and placed the marker inside to indicate where she had left off from. She then turned around and rolled before sitting up. Oh he looked like shit. She knew now that the chemical she had released into his system and curbed his hunger and would now have been worked out of his system. She looked at him, her eyes half downcast, afraid. Yes she had offered him her blood just an hour or so before but now, now she was unsure. But. But he had saved her life. Rose stood reluctantly and shyly before slowly waking over to him. She stopped before him and looked up, blushing. "You can have some. But if you go to far I will not hesitate to hurt you badly." She said softly, darkly as a defiance glinted in her pale blue eyes.
Oh, even the single act of each step almost brought Mason to his knees. Her scent was overpowering, cutting off every other notion of ever wanting anything else but this. The need for blood was so strong, his eyes did not even flicker between colors, but stayed a steady, ruby color. Just catching the edge of her words before he lost complete and utter control, he managed the smallest of sentences, squeezed out through his lack of concentration on anything but her pulsing veins. His feet lead him around her, so he faced her back, until he could whisper into her ear.
"Hurt me very badly," his husky voice agreed, urging her to not hold back, already moving his hands to touch her and bring her closer.
One hand slipped against her waist before it snaked around her stomach. The arm wrapped against her rib cage, just below her breasts while the other moved against her shoulder. It tenderly slipped the collar and sleeve away, his fingertips brushing against her skin; the sleeve fell off her small shoulder, leaving the neck free along with the top of her left shoulder. Removing his hand to join the other, he lowered his lips to her neck. The scars felt rough below them, but for a millisecond, he allowed himself the joy of holding back for only a moment longer. The scent roused him, along with exhilarating every inch of his own body. His lips just barely brushed against her skin at the bottom of her neck, before trialing up. During the small journey, his fangs grew until they ran along her skin. Only when he made it to the correct spot, did he pierce the skin.
Oh, the feeling. The indulgence. The bliss.
