The WorldCat entry for that ISBN says 238 pages . . . and shows a different cover.
➤ lethe . . . ?

In November, the page count was changed from 328 to 268 by a librarian, copy in hand and verified by Worldcat. 268 is indeed the page number most listed for this ISBN by Worldcat: http://www.worldcat.org/search?q=0451...
(One edition lists 328, but this one is described as 9 books in a bag: http://www.worldcat.org/title/1984-a-...)
In February, another librarian changed it to 298 without giving a reason. I have reverted this page count.
There are 25 pages of edits for this particular edition (due to many merges), so I'm not going through them all to see whether there have been previous page count changes.
Differing page counts are not a sufficient reason to add a new edition, and I'm inclined to keep this at 268, as this is the page count most cited by Worldcat.
But I'd like a second opinion from another librarian. Also, should a librarian note be added, in order to prevent the page count being changed over and over again?

ETA I'm off to bed now, it's way too late here :)
