Decker has to present the argument in court to keep Mars from going back to prison after they suspected Montgomery had lied. Did you suspect something off about Mary Oliver at that time? Did you think it odd she didn't use the same arguments?

No. Although she didn't impress me much, and although I wondered who was paying her bill [maybe the state would have to pay her fees if she got him off?], I never imagined that she was the betrayer.

She leaped onto my radar after this scene. Mary was the lawyer with the experience and Decker's arguments should have been rote for her. I raised my eyebrows and kept her on my list. Hadn't a clue how she fit in but from this point forward, I was suspicious.
