Sarah | 18550 comments Chapter 21 to end of the Martine Stover section (view spoiler)

Brady section (view spoiler)

On to Blackish section now (view spoiler)

message 52: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59970 comments I think we're roughly at the same spot. Though I'm not entirely sure. The sample of the book doesn't list the table of contents. I'm at chapter 26 of some section - Blackish perhaps?

To top it all off, when I went to listen to the audiobook to find out where I was, the position wasn't where I left off. It was about 3 hours earlier. Even the bookmark was wrong! Weird.

I think it's safe to say - Holly has just called Hodges and sent him to see Barbara's friend.

Re Sarah's spoiler Izzy & Holly - (view spoiler)

Re: Illness (view spoiler)

There certainly seems to be a supernatural element, but (view spoiler)

Have you been in the bar with the nurse who replaces Scarpelli? (view spoiler)

Sarah | 18550 comments I think you might be ever so slightly ahead of me Janice.

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments I am in library Al section. But if you are in blackish you shoulf be fine to read this (view spoiler)

message 55: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59970 comments I think I'm about to start Library Al. That is one of the downfalls of audiobooks in my opinion. They should all come with a pdf with the table of contents. LOL!

Re Travis Spoiler on Hodges - (view spoiler)

message 56: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I've started Library Al too now :-)

message 57: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments I'm on heads and skins. Things are ibtense now. Especially suicide orince section

message 59: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59970 comments I'm somewhere in the middle of Badconnect.com.

In Library Al, did anyone notice (view spoiler)

Things are intense now where I'm at. Brady is "free". I hope that's not a spoiler. (view spoiler)

From the sounds of Travis's comments, it sounds like the tension is just ramping up. Argh - I have over 5 hours left to listen.

message 60: by Kristie, Moderator (last edited Jul 27, 2016 06:04PM) (new)

Kristie | 19193 comments I just wrapped up Brady and I'm catching up on spoilers. I'm as far as I can go with them now. I'm still a bit behind everyone, but working on catching up. :)

Sarah - Thanks for the section breakdown. That's really helpful.

There's a bit of a disconnect there for Brady. (view spoiler)

message 62: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments ah. On my phone so I can't read all the spoilers. I'll have to patiently wait until I get in to town where I can check them out on my kindle.

message 63: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Right. Read the spoilers and i have some time to write :-)

Re Hodges illness and our theories on that (I'm still in Badconcert.fom) (view spoiler)

I feel a bit better with the hypnosis part now. I've got it straight in my head. So now I'm going to try and explain it. (view spoiler)

Unfinished business(view spoiler)

message 64: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Nice catch Janice with the too library guys. Anyone noticed any other inside tit bits? I don't think i have yet. Apart from mention of a woodchuck right at the beginning which King also seems to be obsessed with (they featured in Under the Dome at the beginning). But that's not really a connection to another book just one of his thibgs, like hypnosis and cars.

message 65: by Janice, Moderator (last edited Jul 28, 2016 07:09AM) (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59970 comments See, and I missed the woodchuck.

Freddie towards the end of badconnect.com - (view spoiler)

message 66: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Done. Was a wild ride at the end . Really wrapped up quite well if it all must come to an end

message 67: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Oh I made a connection I think. I remember he dedicated the book to Thomas Harris. There was a sentence near the end which "like the wings of a red dragon" was in it wgich I believe was not a coincidence with the book dedicated to Thomas Harris. Obviously I am not writing the whole sentence as it may give something away but that little bit was the connection

I'm just about to start the section entitled "The Suicide Prince". I didn't get as much read yesterday as I would have liked.

Re: Your spoiler and Izzy (view spoiler)

There's 4 hours of tension to go yet before this all gets wrapped up.

Interesting teaser there about Red Dragon, Travis!

message 73: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Can't read your spoiler yet. I liked Suicide Prince as it explains lots of stuff. I'm now in heads and skins - at 86% not long to go. It's pretty tense.

message 74: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I've finished. I had to keep reading to find out what happened. I'll comment over the weekend. I've given it 5 stars. I think it was a good ending to the series.

Re: Brady - (view spoiler)

Your other spoilers have echoed my thoughts.

message 79: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59970 comments Sarah, I enjoyed reading your thoughts about the "tell" when someone is lying. I noticed that the book mentioned it several times and thought that perhaps it was a bit unnecessary. Once would have been sufficient.

Funny that you should mention the current case in the States. (view spoiler)

Holly - (view spoiler)

message 80: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I'll see if i can find the case and post it. My hypno lecture wrote an article about it - i'll dig that out too.

Kristie | 19193 comments I finished! I thought it was a great ending to the series. :)

Sarah | 18550 comments With regards to suicide stats (view spoiler)

message 84: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59970 comments Like minds, Kristie. :)

message 85: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Here's that article i mentioned about hypno in witness testimonials and the current death row case in the states http://www.adam-eason.com/use-hypnosi...

message 86: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments So i checked the net and i was way off. Apparently hanging/strangulation is the most common method of suicide followed by poisoning/overdose here in the UK.

message 87: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments They air that number on the radio all the tine around here ao I new it was real. Hear it everyday. The out of the darkness mission

message 88: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59970 comments I couldn't find statistics for Canada, but I would image they are similar to the US which lists gun shot as the most common method.

message 89: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19193 comments I'm not surprised that overdoses are common. It seems an easy way to go. Taking some pills versus something more violent. The same with guns. At least it's quick. Some of the others seem like they'd be really difficult to complete. So sad.

message 90: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Everyone I know used a gun except my great granma she hing herself in tge attic. The few people who tried pills either get sick or call for help before ot was too late. Amd I know entirely too many people qho have tried or succeeded with suicide. No wonder the nimber is advertised all the time. Freaking epidemic around here. But high unemployment anf long winters give us a very high depression rate in this area

message 91: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19193 comments That's awful, Travis. Sorry to hear that you know so many people that have attempted suicide. That's the good thing about pills though, people can call for help after changing their minds.

message 92: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59970 comments I found a website that lists HOW to do it and the results of what may happen if you fail. Amazing.

What is scary, is I know people who have committed suicide using just about all the methods listed. Unfortunately, we have a very high suicide rate here as well.
