Tammie | 4553 comments Please confirm ok...switching from 1st in series to help with airplane 1st...

I think my book Slave to Sensation is going to work for picture of 'O'

The MC, Sasha is a psy...supposed to have no emotion.
She secretly has been having 'flawed' signs of emotion that none of her fellow Psy know she's having.
She meets the other MC...Mr. Hunter:

"She dropped back a little as the door to the meeting room drew closer. She hated encounters with changelings and not because of the general Psy revulsion to their "open emotionalism". It seemed to her that they knew. Somehow they could sense that she wasn’t like the others, that she was flawed."

I think 'Open Emotionalism' is something the Psy resist and is very likely in Sasha's future...I'm on page 5 though.

Interesting! I'm not sure it counts for O right now, but keep reading and see what else you find :)

eta: If anything you may be able to count it for the inkplot - it sounds like there's something "wrong" with her mind, which is psychiatry, where they use inkblots. Just a thought though, keep reading and searching! :)

prag ♻ (janayanation) Hmmm. I'm too late this time for an easy square, aren't I? (My school organised a TEDx event today and I was a part of the OC, so I was verryyy bussyyy last week.) Back on track! Ugh, my BPW keeps dropping and dropping, I was reading so much more when I signed up. Sorry guys:(

ETA: Hold on, is the inkblot green or black? If it's black, Library of Souls might work for it, as it has a lot of vintage black and white pictures.

message 3365: by Lory (new)

Lory | 629 comments So, for the O (or ring) I could potentially use the book The Fifth Assassin (Culper Ring, #2) by Brad Meltzer

The story has the Culper "ring" as the main characters. If that isnn't an O, but a ring with a man in the center of the ring, it could work. However, I likely wouldn't finish until next week. So as a backup, this might work.

@Pragya, About a third of the way through and I like it, so far!

Nice! It works for the girl pic but I have to ask - does the book talk about marriage or wedding rings or anything like that? I'm trying to see if we can use Ray's reasoning for another book. ^^;;

I can read the cypher ring starting Monday.

I also have The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #1) by Patrick Rothfuss which had 662 books from the library. I'm going to start it as well, but not sure if it fits anywhere, but it would bet lots of points! Potentially the N square? I have that online so it's a little easier to read.

Oh yes it works for that too. The guy the heroine is in love with happens to be married but wants to get out of it. And her boss was also in a loveless marriage with a jerk who finally leaves her in the beginning of the novel which starts the whole turn of events .

Yes, absolutely - that could work Ray. And the brother does deputize the MC part way through the story. Thanks so much for picking this up.

I guess I was more focused on the pattern and not the surrounding squares...

FYI - My brain is absolutely fried at the moment. Work is crazy busy (I worked until 11pm last night - my Monday to Friday 9-5 job seems to have disappeared for the moment), and I have taken up some work-related study as well so I am using my reading time to seriously unwind and finding it hard to keep track of things.

Thanks for having my back Red Pandas :)

It's not boring either, I thought I was maybe not over the migraine still and then I woke up from an accidental nap a couple hours ago with a throbbing headache. Went off to urgent care. Seems I have a sinus infection (my 2nd EVER.. or at least in my memory), so yay fun! :[ Antibiotics will be ready soon and maybe I will finally feel normal again. Blerg. I don't recommend being ill for long stretches... once you get toward 6 weeks, it gets really old and super annoying. :/
