Sadly no, they're being more picky with titles for Bingo. As-is and plurals only. :(

Good question! I'll look into it :)

Kazen wrote: "Good question! I'll look into it :)"

I can tell you that cases where the book came first but the show diverges are okay - True Blood/Southern Vampire, Game of Thrones, etc. Your question has been put before the mods, I'll let you know when they deign with a response. ;)

Current pattern: Tree (Reward: Increase all undiscovered x2 powersquares to x3)
Bold goals are unclaimed goals.
Picture - fairy - Bethany (could also count for werewolf or tree)
Picture - werewolf - Ella
Picture - tree - Caly
Text - four word title - Tammie (could also count for tree)
Text - title contains Ring - Lory
Picture - horse - Rose
Text - cover has cat
Text - title contains Touch
Text - book make into TV - Brianna
Picture - person holding a sprig of blueberries

In the bottom most picture someone is holding the blueberries in their own hand. And my book? In Our Own Hands: Essays in Deaf History, 1780–1970 - ta-da! :D
(I never thought I would find a place for that, it's so academic. Yea pictures!)

Yup, that's perfect for blueberry... but is there another place it could work? I'll search for another place my blueberry book works, too, and we can see what we come up with. Sorry I claimed that at the same time as you, eep!
eta: I got it! My cover has butterflies, and some butterflies hibernate in holes in trees. So I'll go for that tree picture instead. Sorry for the fake out!

Congrats on ending the 12 hour shifts, we missed you! Be sure to get lots of sleep in along with your reading. ;)
I'll put you down for made into TV, then. Let us know if it works for any other squares when you turn it in - Ray has a possible TV book, too, but we're waiting for a rule clarification.

Great idea - thanks! :D

Hehehehe. Or read normal speed, stop before the last chapter for a break, then happen to pick up another book... ;)

ETA: Ooh, the title has 4 words in some other language. (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...) Will that count? I don't think so, but one can hope:)

This sounds great for the peculiar-looking rabbit! And for the record - the four word title needs to be of the edition/language you read, including subtitles if they're on the cover.

Excellent! I'll leave the tree open right now, then, but picture a little spectral Ray floating above it, ready to jump in if needed. ;)

"Since it has to be book made into TV, book needs to come first."
So no for the Dr. Who, on that square at least. :/

The book I am about to finish

I guess then I will take the Tree for this round Please? . I have a book called

Timing is hard, especially considering that we have a sizable group of people on opposite sides of the world. Today's timing was dictated by the break between matches, but in the future I'll try to change over cards during Asia's morning or evening, which are evening and morning (respectively) in North America. It's always going to be an off time for someone, though. :/
I'll put you down for the tree - that fits perfectly!

Thank you.
Do we get a new card after every round? Or can we do a second pattern on this one? Just curious how that works

We get a new card every time we submit a pattern. We are free to put books on non-patterns squares though, for the usual amount of points.

Got it.
So we could either put the book I have for Dinosaur on a non pattern square this round, or bank it and hope it fits on a future card correct? I would think not banking books makes more send for this challenge if possible.
Have a great day (or evening LOL) I am off to work here..

Yup, place or reserve. It may be a good idea to have a couple of books in reserve just in case we hit a bingo shark at a bad time, but there's no telling what square that would be on, of course. I can rationalize both the "use 'em all" side and "bank some" side, so I love to hear what everyone thinks. :)
Have a great day at work! ~waves~

The time has come and Bingo is now live! Yeeaaa! Luckily we don't need to keep track of character names so turning in completed books has gotten a little easier:
Book cover
Book name and author
Date read
Number of pages
The square you're reading for
How the book fits the task
The format has been updated on the first page of the thread, too. Go forth and B-I-N-G-O your heart out, Red Pandas! :D

“This is Deirdre,” said Addison. “She’s an emu-raffe, which is a bit like a donkey and a giraffe put together, only with fewer legs and a peevish temper.
“If you’re like a donkey and a giraffe,” said Olive, “then why aren’t you called a donkey-raffe?”
Deirdre frowned and answered, “Because what kind of an awful name is that? Emu-raffe rolls off the tongue, don’t you think?”

An emuraffe isn't half emu, half giraffe??"

Hollow City by Ransom Riggs
Date read: 20/08/16
Pages: 402
Read for: Picture-bunny
How it fits: Peculiar animals play a large part in the story - talking dogs, emuraffes (half donkey, half giraffe), chickens that lay exploding eggs and so on.

I love this. It makes me think of Anne of Green Gables, naming the cherry tree outside her window the Snow Queen because that's the right name, obviously. ;)
I'm going to enter Hollow City into the spreadsheet now - our first Bingo book, how exciting!
eta: And we're 14 points richer, yea! The Overall spreadsheet isn't picking it up yet, but our spreadsheet guru goddess is looking into it. :)

I like a challenge :-)"
All yours! I'll put your name in that spot for now all temporary-like, so let us know how the search goes. :)

I would say it's both - classic in that it has stood the test of time and middle grade in reading level. I loved it as a kid and sped my way through most of the series. :)

In Our Own Hands: Essays in Deaf History, 1780–1970 by Brian H. Greenwald
August 20th
304 pages
Picture - person holding a sprig of blueberries
How it fits: someone is holding a sprig of blueberries with their own hand, and the book I read is In Our Own Hands

I am reading

The main character rides horses, and polo (and space ponies) are mentioned in quite a few conversations. Does that work?

To Save a Mate. by Krystal Shannan
20th aug
160 pgs
Picture- wolf
There's a wolf on the book's cover and hero is a werewolf.

On a tangent, may I present one of my favorite animals, the zonkey. Zebra-donkey hybrid, aka donkey with legwarmers. So adorable.

Dorothy Must Die: Stories by Danielle Paige

Could be for tornado, obviously, or for the lion. I guess it could be for my farie spot, though I was planning on that being for Rose-Red Chain. Ill leave it up to you, Kazen!
