The Buddha in the Attic by Julie Otsuka by Julie Otsuka

129 pages.

It was narrated by a group of women in first person that were never named (always referred to as "we" ) so there are no characters to use but at least we have the "O" from her last name.

Really cool book by the way!

It looks like you wrote "seanan mcquire" instead of "seanan mcguire", perhaps that could be the cause of the issue?

But lol, seaman acquire.

Caly ☯ Crazy Book Lady | 596 comments My thoughts is keep doing what we have been, lets work on this word for a few more days or so and then re-spin, it definitely adds to the fun.

That said I am going to start reading Keeper Chronicles Awakening by Katherine Wynter by Katherine Wynter it has the "K" we can use and it has black rocks and her black hair on the cover. I did color checker and it says there is like 40% black so I assume they would work.

Off to play with puppy and then read while she naps. 8-)

Have an awesome day all!

The book im about to read isnt one u r going to like Ray, hahah it's Twilight Tenth Anniversary/Life and Death Dual Edition by Stephenie Meyer . back when twilight released i didnt have any kindle and the libraries around were either too expensive or too boring so i didnt have access to many books. Twilight and a few other books were the select few that i owned and so i read and reread them and i absolutely loved it. Now its been so many years and im afraid i wont like it as much as before.

My mother -- who was obese my whole life until having a gastric bypass which set off a chain of events that some would say directly led to her early death -- used to criticize my (moderately over-) weight and then in practically the same breath beg me to give her grandkids. Humans are weird.

message 2672: by Brianna (new)

Brianna Andreda | 422 comments This is tricky. I don't really like the color bonus we have but I fear the unknown ones we could get. Kingdom is an awesome word, but that I is killing me. I agree with Ray about possibly being able to get tapirs and that would be great. So I guess a respin could be a good thing

message 2673: by Brianna (new)

Brianna Andreda | 422 comments @Bethany I have that same problem. I have learned to master the art of tuning people out. It has gotten really bad to the point I sometimes unintentionally tune people out. But I'm also so good at it that I know when to nod and shake my head and give a brief comment all while never even knowing what the conversation was about. It just be me and my book and then people who somehow have been muted. I can look dead at someone and not hear one word they're saying lol and then ten minutes later be like "What did you say?"

Kazen Ella wrote: "Question- I'm reading Twilight Tenth Anniversary/Life and Death Dual Edition which is 752 pages and most of these 10 year anniversary special editions are 700+ pages but it it actua..."

Answer! :D

It's basically like a boxed set, so each book should be shelved separately.

message 2685: by Kazen (new)

Kazen So it sounds like we're a bit of a mixed mind about whether to spin for a new word or not. How about if we stay with Kingdom for a few more days, then spin for a new word before the new week starts? That way we can take advantage of the color bonus going down by one. And if the word is awful we respin again easily, and if one of the color bonuses is icky we can use an omni bonus to take care of it. :)

...I hope that makes sense, I'm about to collapse into bed so my brain is all scrambled, hehe. Night all!

Ray (user2637) (hugpete) | 1521 comments I gave it 3.5 stars. A little too fantasy for me to give 4 but definitely weird and interesting. There's time travel so the story is all jumbled (in a good way) and the chapters are numbered 1, 2, 1, 2, for the whole book. It's my first Zelazny, recommend by my partner, so if you like Zelazny (& I know you like fantasy) I'd definitely recommend it. :)

Ray (user2637) (hugpete) | 1521 comments BIGHUGS. Personally I like to argue against things like this using science. Wa just reading a great anti-dieting article with lots of links to the read watch studies. Turns out people whose BMI (which, btw, was completely arbitrarily invented & there's no data backing up the 'ideal' range) falls into the "overweight" category actually have lower mortality than all the other categories.

Also, statistically, people who get married younger have higher rates of divorce. You could ask why they want you to get divorced and die early, haha! Put on a frown, a lip quiver, and a little hitch in your voice...then flee the room and slam a door. That oughta buy you some reading time. ;););)

Maybe it's because I'm child-free, but I don't understand the level of control/over-investment that some relatives expect to exert on others. I have a cousin whose parents decided he WILL be a golf champion--they have planned when to move from Portugal to Florida for a special school, what instructor he'll have, and basically his whole life. He gets no choice. He is 4.5 years old. Sure, these people technically created my cousin, but I don't think they should get to dictate his entire existence.
