I have complex thoughts about it... good but with first novel trouble spots.

I had coffee today while finishing up White Mountains and making headway on My Planet. It was ~2 hours of reading and I got through 68 pages. To support Margaret!

I have you down for 23 Minutes and yeaaaa sprints! I had a bus ride from hell yesterday and afterwards I realized that if I kept my nose in my book instead of staring out the window I could have done a two hour sprint! (It's a one hour bus ride. The first ten minutes took an extra hour >_<)

The Postman Always Rings Twice by James M. Cain"
Yea! Congrats from Japan, where the postman (and package guy) do, in fact, always ring twice! And here I thought it was just a book title. ;)

Interesting! I wish the package guy rung twice in America. The guy literally knocked on my door once and before I could get to the door he was already gone and the package was on the ground. Only time I've ever been glad to live among people who do not read for entertainment

This! I had similar problems when I lived in San Francisco. :(
Japan is kind of amazing with the package stuff - you can sign up for a specific time slot, down to a one or two hour block. And if you miss a morning package you can ask them to come back later that same day(!).

You've been an awesome reading machine!

That is freaking awesome!!! I NEED to move there. NOW!!! These package guys are always violating my books. One package guy looked at me like I was crazy person because I thank him for not assaulting my book's feelings by leaving them out in the cold because I didn't make it to the door in less than 30 seconds.

Come be my neighbor! Hehe. Your package guy is obviously not a book person - of course they have feelings! Geesh. ;)

Check.
Back up book?
Check.
Just in case book?
Got it.
Emergency book?
Right here.
So we can leave the house now?
...I guess. If we must.
;)

Hopefully I can squeeze them all in, but if not I will definitely be reading

*Packing now* He definitely is not, but hopefully since he thinks I'm a crazy book girl he'll treat my books with some respect :)

I like cookies!!! :D :D nomnomnom

Bahahaha! SO TRUE, if you only knew! I kinda hate leaving my house. My house is awesome -- it's a 112 year old Victorian with a library, game room, craft room, and even a basement which is weird in this area. Plus there are people outside of my house. Like groups of strange people who smoke or wear perfume, two things I'm allergic to. So, yeah, inside the house is MUCH better. :D
Also, I always have ~300 books with me on my iPod. And a few paper books in my trunk. Just in case, you know. ;)

I know, right!! Only 22 more books to go until we can count it "Complete". Woot!

I have a few books I'm looking at after Study in Silks, so I wanted to double check.

My Planet: Finding Humor in the Oddest Places
by Mary Roach
PJ"
Yea Mary Roach! This is her collection of shorter stuff, right? How was it?

I knew there were some LFLs around but never just happened upon one. I really really really want to put one in the corner of my front yard (but simultaneously don't want to actually build one). Someday.
Here it is! And I'm in the reflection, haha.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that! Booooo. :(
In the future - if you (or anyone else!) is reading a book and it really really sucks let us know. There's no reason to keep reading something that you would normally DNF, especially when the task is as open as this one. I will not have teammates torturing themselves, even if it's in the name of books. 'kay?
...but we'll make sure your suffering wasn't in vain and pop that in the spreadsheet right away. :) Good work, soldier - now go treat yourself to some book catnip! :D

Yup; it's shorts she wrote for Reader's Digest. Sort of weird having them all together because she introduces her husband in just about every one. Also some were a little too "men do this, women do that" for my taste, but still some LOL moments. I gave it 3 stars.

No worries! If you don't want to read Visibly Broken at all that's okay, too. :)

Oh Ray - how exciting!! Those Little Free Libraries are awesome. And how serendipitous to have found that culinary book!!
I really, really want to put one up in my area too. I showed my husband the website hinting that maybe he might want to build one for me :)

Yes and no. ;) Long story short - two people have yet to claim PJ slots. Thanks to the Omni-sack bonus we'll soon be able to open up the PJ bonus. So as long as they read a book we'll be able to swap it in to Heat 1 or 2 and putting the book it replaces into the bonus. Or maybe Chariot decorations if that opens up soon.
So for now, just read - we'll wedge it in somewhere! I don't have any interpreting today so I'll be tackling this between laundry and studying. :)

Awesome! I hope he does! My partner is fine with one going in the front yard as long as he doesn't have to do anything at all. We have an elementary school a few blocks down and kids walk by every day, and it's not the richest neighborhood so I think it'd be a really nice thing to do.
Mostly we just scare the kids on Halloween. Literally we make kids cry every year with our scary decor. So, maybe this will make up for it?

Nice work! If it makes you want to read the next one it's not a total loss... especially if it has well-written sex!^ ;)
