I'm just suggesting! We've got a lot of TA books to use still, but saving some for the next event is good too. Read what you like! :D
Bethany wrote: "Haha, I guess none given TA bonuses. "
I downloaded a list of all my "on shelf" books from 100-300 pages and plugged them into my excel formulas. There are shockingly few chains. :/ I'm pretty relayed out too.Bethany wrote: "Also, Ugh, I'm so title relayed out. Like, I'm willing to do it, but so many of my books just have such unusual words that there's no way I can chain off of them. "
I'm relayed out three. I think I'll just hide those under a spoiler so we don't have to stare at them ;)Bethany - if you're up for urban fantasy go for it! We can save you a spot no problem :)
Ray (user2637) wrote: "After the old end-time of Labors, we'll get new 'boons' and can swap a relay task out for free!"As per the Update post:
- At that time the three freebie bonuses will reset, giving us three more freebie bonuses to use as we wish. Huzzah!
Replacing a relay and pulling an extra task may not be a bad idea. ;)

Bold goals are unclaimed goals.
☆★ Time Slip! The New End of Labors Countdown is Here ★☆
TWENTY-NINE - 60 points: Title Relay (view spoiler)
THIRTY-ONE - 40 points:
31A ◈ Read a book with a horse on the cover
31B ◈ Read a book tagged as western
31C ◈ Read a book with rope on the cover
31D ◈ Read a book that features a cowboy
THIRTY-TWO - 60 points: Title Relay (view spoiler)
THIRTY-THREE - 140 points:
Read book #1 (and 2, through 12) in a series. TA covers everything except:
◈ Book #7 in a series - Pragya
◈ Book #8 in a series
◈ Book #11 in a series - Ray
◈ Book #12 in a series
THIRTY-FOUR - 60 points:
34B ◈ Read a book where someone is murdered
I've finished
&
in the last three days [Sorry for not checking in, my internet was down:(], I'll go through our current labors and see where they fit.
One of the main character's in Winter is a member of the royal guard, could that work for 30B ◈ Read a book with a main character who is a police officer?
Eh, no bonuses are really striking my fancy at the moment. I'm going to start reading the second book in one of the series I've started and hope it fits somewhere. I have so many series that I've only read the first one of and I would like to actually continue some of them.
Finished
A Real Cowboy Never Says No by Stephanie Rowe
1st oct
228 pgs
Any in task 31-rope horse cowboy western.
I'm feeling kind of reading slump-y right now. I've still read 10% of a book today, which isn't terrible, but I'm having a hard time sitting down and hitting a good stride where I read more than 1 chapter at a time.
Reading next: Body of LiesMC is married to a police detective 30B
Eve Duncan is a forensic consultant...4th in the series
Aw, sorry. I'm sure you'll pull out of it soon though. :) I knocked out a couple middle-grade books today, mostly in the bath. Had to soak away a stiff neck for an hour or so. At least I'm getting things done in Novel RPG!And it's only 5 hours until the original end time of Labors, so we could be getting 1 or 2 or even 3 new tasks soon! I'm sure there'll be something in those to inspire you.

This is really nice to have in our back pocket - thanks :)

Between magic and cakes we should hopefully find a place for this soon :)
Pragya wrote: "One of the main character's in Winter is a member of the royal guard, could that work for 30B ◈ Read a book with a main character who is a police officer?"Royal guard usually acts as police, so I'll take it. :) Great job with those two books, and I hope your internet is all fixed for good now! Eep.
Caly wrote: "Finished!
The Shadow of a King by C.M.Gray

Huzzah! I'll pull a new one as soon as I catch up here :)

Feel free to take a mini-break to see if that helps... or walk around a bookshop, that usually helps me... though it comes with its own costs ;)
Tammie wrote: "Reading next: Body of LiesMC is married to a police detective 30B

I was just about to slot this in but someone else has already claimed 30B... something else that it works for, by chance?
I would love to, but I have put myself on a partial book-buying ban until December... because I bought probably over 50 book since the beginning of July. And I certainly haven't read them all.Kazen wrote: "Bethany wrote: "I'm feeling kind of reading slump-y right now. Or one of the following tasks may inspire you - incoming! Big puzzles, no whammies....

Bethany, this is perfect for your series! I'm going to go through the banked and TA books and see what we can use :)eta: Was able to find everything except 6, 7, 8, 11, and 12. We have one freebie bonus left that we can use in the next few hours... maybe knocking out #12 would be a good idea?
eta2: Also, I found some TA books to fill in task 30! If you know of an unusual sidekick in one of your banked books or a TA book let us know, it would be faster than me finishing my book ;)
eta3: Room could be considered to have an unusual sidekick, couldn't it? In a five-year-old-boy?
Heh. Ray (user2637) wrote: "TA books fill a lot of #30

Where have I been?!? So sorry :(
eta: Holy cow, I missed a group of posts back there. Just found your TA book for 31C too :)
Yikes. I think the longest series I've read is Harry Potter, which has 7 books. I say get rid of the 12! I can read
, which is #7 in series. There's always a good reason to read some Potter!Kazen wrote: "Bethany, this is perfect for your series! I'm going to go through the banked and TA books and see what we can use :)

Kazen wrote: "Room could be considered to have an unusual sidekick, couldn't it? In a five-year-old-boy?"Well, the 5 year old boy is the narrator and protagonist, his 27 year old mother could be the sidekick. That could count as unusual sidekick.
Weren't you reading a book for 30D?

I am, but I'm only a third of the way through the book. Now all the pieces are in place and we can pull a new task, yea! Thanks for the help with Room :)
eta: Big puzzles, no whammies! (Saying it seems to help....)

◈ Play in the Hedge - Read a book with a topiary in it.

34a: Colette and the Silver Samovar had a woman read tea leaves and predict danger in the future (which then happened). Does that count as psychic?
I'm finally reading Never Never part 2. Does regularly losing all your memories count as mentally unbalanced?
34c: The Magic Cake Shop has many mentally unbalanced characters. The parents are practically anorexic "We only eat dinner every other day," and are fixated on being perfect -- definitely unbalanced.
Ray (user2637) wrote: "34a: Colette and the Silver Samovar had a woman read tea leaves and predict danger in the future (which then happened). Does that count as psychic?"Works for me!
Bethany wrote: "I'm finally reading Never Never part 2. Does regularly losing all your memories count as mentally unbalanced?"
I would say this counts but using Ray's Magic Cake Shop sounds like it would be a little more solid so let's go for that :)
Ray (user2637) wrote: "@Bethany - pretty sure Island of Doctor Moreau has unbalance folks too."Any murders in that book? Of people, not animals ^^;;

We still have a freebie bonus over the next few hours... maybe that would be a better spot for "any book" than #12?
Sounds good to me. I checked a few bank/TA books and found no topiaries.Did find snow in Anne of the Island though, TA shelf.
Kazen wrote: "We still have a freebie bonus over the next few hours... maybe that would be a better spot for "any book" than #12?"
Great call with Anne of the Island - I don't remember much snow in it but it takes place over a rather hard winter. Perfect, thank you! :)
I'll claim 33 #11. I have another Monk book I can read. :)Also, check out the presents my partner got me! Just arrived from Amazon today. A Kindle Fire, and a silly dino skeleton necklace.

I already hate the GR app compared to the iOS version. It doesn't seem to want to let me put things on anything but the main bookshelves -- not great for Wobble. :/ But also I'm old, so maybe I just don't know how to use it yet, haha. Also, dang this thing is heavier than my ipod. But the screen looks nice!
