Tilly (madmat) | 42 comments Ooh I've figured out how to link to a book! :)

I've also just read the follow-up to Olivia Cunning's Double Time, Outsider and really enjoyed it, love the male characters.
Outsider

Cherise Sinclair has just released another ménage: Mischief and the Masters, which was on a par with her other Shadowlands novels (BDSM context, the heroin has issues that the Masters help her overcome).
Mischief and the Masters

I also just read Cleo Peitsche's Executive Toy series:
Executive Toy
a heroin with baggage, but I thought this was really well handled - how it impacts on how she handles and relates to her 3 dominant lovers - better than in Three to Ride or Mischief and the Masters. HEA but I found some of the sex scenes disturbing.

Tilly (madmat) | 42 comments I also read The Anatomy of Jane recently and I thought it was great, and it's free!

Thanks Tilly for the recs, this reminds me to finish the Executive Toy series, I started with instalment 1 but never finished. Good to know you liked it. And I remember the sex scenes were a bit disturbing for me as well...

I want to mention an author Jane Pearl that I've discovered from the freebie thread. The Ranchers' Submissive and The Cowboys' Submissive were the menage MFM books I've read by her.
All of them have dominant cowboy H's and submissive h's. The D/S is mild with elements of exhibition, spanking/domestic discipline, voyeurism, body modification but still I thought the books were extremely hot with just the right kinks for me, plus the right touch of romance.

Thanks to whoever posted her books in the freebie thread, I've discovered a great new author!

Hi Talltree
yes, it's worth persisting with Executive Toy, it gets better and better, like making mayonnaise!

Talltree | 167 comments Mod
Lol! I love my mayo, but its definitely better made with persistence and practice! Glad you liked Tequila Truth, Tilly. Mari Carr is a hit or miss author for me, (with more hits than misses though) but this was a fun read. Maybe you'd like other menages by her - I liked Any Given Sunday. Its an MMF romance.
But what you said about Laid Bare was true, they wasted a whole lot of years just trying to play safe:(

message 56: by Tilly (new)

Tilly (madmat) | 42 comments Talltree wrote: "... Laid Bare..."
Yes. So OK I'm officially in my 40s and hindsight is 20/20 as the cliché goes but still, why would an author let them live together for 8 bloody years, and all the while the girl is not having any sex? come on!
BTW I don't actually make mayo ever, but I've seen how my mum does it ;)
I suppose you could also compare Executive Toy to peeling an onion.
And perhaps I really should go to bed!

Peeling an onion, haha, another great food metaphor, its all making me hungry now for a sandwich, lol. But that actually sounds promising about ET, I remember reading it (bk1) and being surprised by how smart it was for smut.
And that part in Laidbare really drove me nuts, like why would any author have the h be celibate for so many years, maybe 1 or 2 yrs I could understand....
Lol, I always read before bed, a bedtime routine that works for me and sometimes end up on GR really sleepy too. Sweet dreams honey!

Tilly (madmat) | 42 comments It's 3am here :( it's the holidays but I need to be vaguely awake to interact with my family tomorrow. I got some good suggestions this evening so can have a binge and come back here in a few weeks. Cheers.

message 59: by Heather in FL (new)

Heather in FL (heather_fl) I finished this a while back, but Candy Boys Candy Boys (Hot Candy, #1) by Jo Raven was really good. The "second" one, Candy Ever After Candy Ever After (Hot Candy, #2) by Jo Raven is called an epilogue by the author, and that pretty much is what it is. You won't necessarily miss anything if you don't read it, but it's a nice extended epilogue with some humor as well as a few loose ends tied up. And, not sure if it's still that way, but Candy Boys was included in my version of Candy Ever After, so if you get just that, you might get a two-fer.

Thanks Heather. I've been eyeing Candy Boys and now will be sure to pick it up.

Recently I've read Rivals For Love Rivals For Love by Eve Vaughn which was an IR menage romance. For readers who enjoy the love triangle that eventually resolves into a menage MFM HEA, this is for you. This book had likeable MCs and I enjoyed it.

Two Masters for Samantha Two Masters for Samantha (Awakenings #3) by Michele Zurlo had two brothers who were Doms trying to get the h, Samantha to commit to them and be their sub. There was a substantial BDSM element. It was refreshing that the h even after being bowled over by orgasms didn't fall all over herself and fall for the guys or the lifestyle. She was cautious and that was realistic. It was also funny that she was the only person who could tell the twin H's apart. My only peeve was sometimes the H's were too pushy with the h, but otherwise it was an enjoyable read. Recommended for readers who like BDSM in their menage.

Aղցela W. I recently read American Queen (American Queen Trilogy, #1) by Sierra Simone and American Prince (American Queen Trilogy, #2) by Sierra Simone and I loved both of these books and can't wait until book 3 comes out. The President is kinky and in love with his V.P.

I completely agree. I've read American Queen and I'm currently reading American Prince and they're both very good (especially if you like a parallel with mythical stories).

I read Twice as Hard Twice as Hard by Amber A. Bardan and liked it. It was an MFM read with some D/S and role play elements. But I also found parts of it very touching - the h was vulnerable from being an unwanted orphan/foster-kid all her life and the bond between her and both H's was sweet and palpable- plus the book was hot!

Wow, Talltree, I've just read this and just wow. It was a bit like Executive Toy, I had to hang in there at the beginning but I loved it overall, shame it's a bit short!
Also thanks for recommending Double Team, which I'm currently reading and thoroughly enjoying, it's very funny, and I love the way the writer is using fantasy to make it hotter.
Before that, I had a long bout of Sophie Oak. I wasn't blown by Three to Ride the first time I read it but I found it much funnier the 2nd time around and really enjoyed the whole Bliss series, my faves being Two to Love, Found in Bliss, Chasing Bliss and, because I loved Siren Unleashed and wanted an HEA for Logan, Back in Bliss.

I had the same experience with Sophie Oak, her books were better for me the second time around!

I tried Best Friends Share Everything by Miranda Stowe Best Friends Share Everything this week and enjoyed it. The h is in a relationship with the H and eventually ends up with his best friend as well,( it was MMF), it was a fun, sexy and enjoyable novella read!

I read Nora Ash's Trouble (Made&Broken, #3) by Nora Ash Trouble. Theres twin H's and both are from the mafia. The book was hot and sweet.

Tilly (madmat) | 42 comments Hi everyone,
hey just worked out how to insert a book with pic, yay.
Bbeen a it quieter on the reading front. Been re-reading Double Team and Siren Unleashed. Just really like Chase in the latter, he's hilarious. Can you recommend other heroes like him?
It's odd you didn't enjoy Double Team so much, Talltree, I noticed in your entry above that you skimmed a lot. I love it, really funny.
I started American King, which has finally come out after American Queen and American Prince, but didn't get on with it, not sure why.
On the plus side, I enjoyed reading Cherise Sinclair's latest paranormal ménage Leap of the Lion. The whole series is paranormal ménage. The heroins are generally about young women with little to no experience of the shifter lifestyle. I'm in touch with Cherise and lobbying for Heather to get her turn in the lime light.

Kristy Johnston | 5 comments I just finished reading Kneel, Mr. President by Lauren Gallagher for the second time and I loved it just as much the second time around. I don't think I had seen the American queen/Camelot series before so I should add that to my read list for February. I need to look through this thread and see what I'm missing on my TBR list!

Kristy Johnston | 5 comments I just finished The Escort's Tale by M.J. Edwards (who is also known as Robert Winter for those of you who read MM romance too). I'm not sure where I got the recommendation as I thought it was here but when I looked and didn't see it, I added it to the shelf. Great story about an escort who is hired by a couple with marital problems due to the husband's recent paraplegia. I really enjoyed it. Hope you do too.

OMG, ladies, I just started this, about 1/4 of the way in. It's narrated by a (male) hooker with a heart of gold. It's hot, it's sweet, it's romantic. Did I mention it was hot?
