ABANDONED. protective robot suffering from amnesia

Hello,

I try to find a novel but i do not rembember the author/name :(

iss a novel with multiple stories I remember one of them, where we follow a robot that "protects" the public ( including a farmer), but following a total breakdown, he finally forget everyone and in the end, it kills the guy that we followed along, because he is now a stranger.

There's nothing else i remember.

Is this a science fiction novel (with multiple storylines - not a short story collection) for young adults/teens or older adults?

Unfortunately, no :( I still haven't find the novel i'm looking for.
I read almost all asimov novels without any luck :(
