And even though Rose just gave blood to Lissa for survival purposes, it was still considered bad in their society.

And And that's just your opinion. I think Rose is awesome. It's so rare to see characters like her. Yes, she did some bad things, got her friends help because of which they got in trouble. but All she wanted to do is protect her best friend.. That kind of friendship is so rare.. I loved how much they care about each other..
This series is one of my favs!!! You can't help getting sucked in the moment you pick it up, and Rose is the best main character, even though she has her flaws. I recommend this book to anyone who has time on their hands, because once you pick up this book, you won't be able to put it down!!
Definitely! However, I feel that you need to give it a few books (like 1 and 2) to get a feel of things if you're not into vampires and things like that, but it wasn't a problem with me at all. I was interested in it from the moment I heard the synopsis. And I feel like people decided they didn't want to give Vampire Academy a chance because of the name, and it does give off a girly type feel I guess, but it's not at all like that. And so I think that Vampire Academy is definitely worth the time and the read.
Maybe not just the the first books, but you should definitely read the whole series. It took me a good half a year or so once I'd heard of it to decide whether or not I wanted to read it, and trust me, it was totally worth our time. Once you met Dimitri there is no turning back! I read the whole series in like 2 or 3 weeks, I liked it that much.

definately worth it, the 1st two books were pretty awesome, but if ur still not really certain and u don't want to spend too much money on a book u might possibly hate, read it on docin
the book is one of my faviortes and the spin off seris Bloodlines is also AMAZING! i really recommened it

I totally agree with you.. Before reading the comments here, I thought it was IMPOSSIBLE to read the WHOLE series and NOT LIKE IT.. I mean, it has something for everyone.. It has humor, action, mystery, suspense, Epic Romance,friendship.. Everything..
It takes you on an emotional journey.. It makes you laugh and cry..
