However, the second book (no cover) appears to have the other book’s truncated ISBN-13 in the ISBN-10 field.
Did you perhaps mean that there is in fact only one book—and that the two books need to be merged?

Yes! That is excatly what I mean! :) Sorry for the miscommunication. This is actually the same edition of the same book :)

Based on your confirmation, and since you created the book with invalid (truncated) ISBN, it has been merged with the other edition.
