I'm hooked on Hardcore GoT. Any recommendations about where to start sampling Dan Carlin's Hardcore History?

He only has the last 10 (48 to 57) up for free on his podcast (Available on iTunes) The rest are for sale on his website at $2 a show.

I have to admit I was a little cross at Veronica's amazement at how these guys have taken not much info from the world and turned it into a cool narrative. That's what historians do every day! Then I realised that maybe not everyone knows that.
Historians make cool stories every day! But with Actual Things that happened (as much as it can be determined that they are Actual Things that happened). The part where you can do it with a world like ASOIAF speaks volumes about GRRM's work and worldbuilding.
(Full disclaimer: I'm a historian. Obviously ;))
Dan Carlin's Common Sense current events podcast is also good. The latest one is called "Disengaging the Lizard Brain": http://www.dancarlin.com/common-sense...He gives good Audible picks at the end too.
