I don't know all of the actors, but who is the idiot who cast a brunette to be Anna? Both Anna and Meghan are BLONDE which is why Rachel had that case of mistaken identity when she was drunk!!!!!!!!

Samantha (modernsamwitch) To be perfectly honest, I actually enjoyed this book, although I agree that it had so much hype behind it, that it ended up being a bit of a disappointment after completion. I am looking forward to the movie adaption, but I am trying to go in with as close to no expectations as possible. I was pleasantly surprised with the recent movie adaption of Me Before You so we will see how this one fairs (I realize that one movie has nothing to do with the other).

As for Patrcia's comment, I am quite the reverse! I have also read both Girl on the Train and Gone Girl, and actually enjoyed GotT more. I found the ending (of GotT) to be much more suspenseful, though I enjoyed both books (the movie however, is another story).

Ethan | 1261 comments In response to the questions of the film version of this book, I'll wait to pass judgement until I see the movie. Actors do pretend to be different people for a living after all. When the movie comes out, we'll have to start a thread so we can discuss some more!

I'd also like to thank everyone for participating in this lively discussion. If you're interested in something totally different, please hop over and join our discussion of last year's Pulitzer winner All the Light We Cannot See.

Kathy | 8 comments The use of the word girl in the title doesn't necessarily influence my level of interest in a book. It is interesting though that the books I've read with girl in the title almost exclusively have a woman as the protagonist instead of a young girl. Ethan wrote: "Hi everyone! Yes. Personally, I'm not impressed with seeing the word girl in a title for a book about a woman. Silly fad, IMO.

Interesting question. Now that I think about it, I actually don't even register a title - unless this is happening subconsciously. (I am a psychiatrist, forgive me for this aside). I likely used to as a child when all I could see was the title before picking up a book to see if I wanted it. Now, I go by book recommendaitons, and the title is the way for me to look up reviews by pros and readers and seemingly not more than that.
