Contessa | 3 comments i have read this book depends on my friends recommendation...it is really nice book..khalid houssini used very good way to describe the story..actually i was able to imagine each word and each sketch litrary..nice one although it have sad areas..

Rahul Sinha (thesilentcartographer) It tears the heartstrings. The style of writing makes me feel as if I am reading poetry. Very few books manage to touch hearts like this one does.
Magnum Opus of Hosseini.

Mahima Pradhan Honestly, it really left a part of me traumatized after reading all about what happened to the women there. Khaled Hosseini has the guts to bring out the facts raw and as they are to the world outside.

Shabeena | 1 comments Indeed 'A thousand splendid suns', is an amazing book though the life of Mariam jo should not have ended like the way writtn in the story....She was my best character and I thought she will fight back in the end...She suffered from the begining of the story upto its end..Her codition was terrible..She is like an inspiration...her power of bearing each and every grief loss of her mother, her marriage with Rasheed, her miscarriage...she was really a kind hearted women to make such a lovely bond with Laila and her childrens specially with Aziza...
She was more then down to earth kinnda women.. she is an inspiration to womenkind....atlast each and every sacrifices of hrr made her far more brave..She deserves to get everything especially education...
Laila got the happy ending though she also suffered but not that much as Mariam jo had suffered...
I hated Rasheed's character he was ugly both by mind and heart..Laila and Tariq's realtionship Was the best part...it has love, respect, understanding and all what a true realationship consists...Tariq Never cheated Laila he accepted her with Rasheed's son...He is my second favourite male character After Mullah Faizullah...
Wars are worse...after reading this book m much more thankful to Allah who has given us a peaceful country and also I'm Thankful to Khaled sir who gave us such a motivational and amazing story...

Radhika (radhijai) | 14 comments The author has a wonderful writing style . His first book The Kite Runner was wonderful too
Reading this book made me grateful for where I was born as a woman. It all comes down to it. The laws are so much against women and there womens rights do not work. Mariam and laila had no choice but to bond it was easier on them. But life teaches you to compromise to live it and that is what freedom for women means. Sometimes we pay the price to use our freedoms. This book brings that out in so many ways....

Pallavi (bookfetisher) I have started this and 110 pages down. I have always liked Hosseini's style. Looking forward to finish it soon.

Arpit (arpitjoshi) | 1332 comments It will be amazing if the readers write down here the line(s) they most liked in the book.
Some of my favourites from the book The Thousand Splendid Suns :

1. You can not stop you from being who you are.
2. A society has no chance of success if it's women are uneducated.
3.Tell your secret to the wind, but don’t blame it for telling the trees.
