*=Trea to Double Up on this book
When would you like to start this, ~Michelle~? I have one BR that is starting today, and another that is unscheduled as of right now. Other than that, I'm pretty flexible.
I'll be starting this one when I take my son to his speech therapy appointment in a couple of hours.
~Michelle~ wrote: "Starting now :)"I only read about 50 pages while waiting for my son's therapy appointment to end...but I hate Adele!
I know, right?!? I kind of want to slap her. LOLI finished through Chapter 9 today. I have a doctor's appt. 2 hours away tomorrow so I won't get much reading in. Hopefully we can pick up wherever you get to tomorrow.
I am enjoying it so far!

I wasn't able to get much further than I had after my son's appointment, but I've had a rough night and will probably do some more reading before he gets up for the day.
No worries. As always, I have 2 - 3 other books going at the same time so no need to feel super rushed.
~Michelle~ wrote: "No worries. As always, I have 2 - 3 other books going at the same time so no need to feel super rushed."Eh, its more of a OCD thing for me...I try to read a book a day, but I just wound up getting busy. Got a 2 hour wait today, so I should make some good progress today.
Well, my two hour wait made me have excellent progress on this, because I finished it last night before bed. Sadly, though I didn't like it much. The story was rather boring to me, the romance between Molly and her detective was uninspired at best, and Molly felt downright stupid to me at times! I do remember liking this a bit more the first time I read it, so it could just be how I've changed in my reading tastes for not enjoying it this time around.I picked up my library request for the next book yesterday, so I plan on sticking around for the next book at least!
I haven't read any more yet, but probably will finish by tomorrow. I'm sad it didn't go well for you. Maybe the 2nd book will be better!

Well I finally finished Book 1 and gave it 3*, but it was probably more like 2.5* in all actuality. It seemed to drag on a good bit there in the middle/end. I wasn't expecting the correct suspect, so that was a little bit of saving grace I guess. And you were right that the whole romance was lacking and almost ridiculous - I think more so than in Book 6 that I had already read.Maybe the writing gets better as the series progresses because I do recall liking Book 6 slightly more than this one.

When would you like to try to read book 2? I've got nothing scheduled yet, but a good bit of buddy reads set up. I already have my library copy, but it is due back on the 14th. It should be renewable though!

How about we start it this weekend then, say Saturday or Sunday? That should give me plenty of time to read it before it has to go back to the library.
Well, I went ahead and started it, since I hadn't heard back from you. I'm not that far into it, but I'm not really liking it. Molly is coming off as nothing more than a busybody with a bit of a god complex who denies it and the romance now has an ick factor to it. At least in Joanne Fluke's books, Hannah admits she's a busy body, but also has the sense to call in back up if she needs it! Plus, there was a bit more romance to things there. This is coming off as a poor imitation of that.I'm going to finish this one for sure, and the third, just to be sure of my feelings on it, but I can't guarantee I won't abandon the series after that.
Hey! I hadn't seen the notifications come up. I'm doing WOBBLE and lots of things get buried under all the notifications from there. I'll purchase the Kindle version today and start on it. I wish it was sounding much better! Sorry I kept you hanging.

I started another buddy read and read Purity in Death too, so I wouldn't get too far ahead. I'm only on page 34 and all this has already manifested.
I wound up finishing this since my other buddy read is only reading 3 chapters a day. I didn't care for it, as it was just more of the same we saw in book 1 as far as how Molly was acting.
Well, I finished Book 2...Meh...I don't think I can make myself stay on a timeline as a buddy read with the rest of them. I'll probably work them in if I need them for a specific challenge, well maybe...maybe not at this point.
I really had to force myself to read this one and probably would not have finished if it wasn't a BR. :(
I'd love to try another BR in the future with a book that's actually decent enough to have some discussion about. Keep me in mind.
