random name | 178 comments Marvelous. Any ideas?

Onyxia The Dragon | 158 comments I have a couple ideas. A vampire idea and a sci-fi idea

message 4: by random name (new)

random name | 178 comments Sci-fi is always interesting, shoot.

Onyxia The Dragon | 158 comments Person 1 is an agent at the space station DEVA, whose inhabitants have no physical bodies, their minds digitized and processed into a virtual reality environment. After failing to track down the hacker known as "Frontier Setter", who had infiltrated DEVA's systems dozens of times to gather allies for his cause with no success, she is tasked to look for him down on Earth, now a barren planet where the rest of the humans live. After being given an organic body and sent to the surface, Person 1 meets Person 2, her contact on Earth, who cuts off all communications with her base, in order to prevent Frontier Setter from discovering their location as well, despite her protests. As they search for the Frontier Setter, they have continuous disagreements over the nature of DEVA. Person 2 believes that it is a corrupt system while Person 1 defends it. It seems like the two can't work together, until Person 1 realizes that organic bodies do not work like digital bodies. She suddenly falls ill, and Person 2 has to care for her.

Like The Infinite Sea? 'cept the last part doesn't make sense. Wouldn't (s)he begin getting sick the second she inhabits the body, it just get's worse the longer they're there? And if neither of them like each other, why would Person 2 have to care for them? It's a good idea, I just want to contribute somehow!

Onyxia The Dragon | 158 comments The way I see it, Person 2 cares for her/him because he/she understands that a person who lives in a digital body would not understand his/her point of view, and they are not used to the small problems people have to face with a physical body. So Person 2 is taking pity on them. As for the illness, I don't really think the effect would be immediate, kind of like the 24 hour stomach flu. It's in you, but it takes awhile for the symptoms to actually kick in.

I also have no idea what The Infinite Sea is. I took this idea from an anime film.

Onyxia The Dragon | 158 comments Yes

Name: Caspian Skitois
Age: 21 autumns

Gender: Male
Appearance: When the sun disappeared behind the smog that filled the air, humans had to adapt. Caspian was born with sepia-coloured hair, the colour of the darkened sky that was spread out above them. Freckles are dotted around his cheeks like the stars that they can never see at night. As for his eyes, they're a Caribbean green as to remain loyal to the Caspian Sea.
(view spoiler)

Personality: Caspian, through a lot of loss, is still able to smile and depends on that to keep everything in his life going. However, over time, his humour began to diminish and a serious disposition and a will to keep anyone and everyone alive set in.

Onyxia The Dragon | 158 comments Sweet. Would you like me to start?

random name | 178 comments Mmm. One more thing... are there like mutated animals from whatever caused the destruction of the Earth or is it just normal?

Onyxia The Dragon | 158 comments Actually, there are. I forgot to mention that

message 23: by random name (new)

random name | 178 comments Oh great! Any specifics or just make them up as we go?

Onyxia The Dragon | 158 comments Let's just make them up, it'll be more interesting that way.

message 25: by random name (new)

random name | 178 comments Wonderful, okay you can go now.

message 26: by random name (new)

random name | 178 comments Oh and tomorrow is my birthday whooohooooo! so I'll try to carve out some time for this but it's not likely.

Onyxia The Dragon | 158 comments Angela walked up to a rack that displayed artillery. She examined each weapon carefully and turned to a bot that was waiting behind her. "Load the RPG and the carbine rifle into the pod, then let my superiors know that my file will be soon locked into the pod," she told the bot. It quickly loaded her weapons of choice and rolled off to speak with the heads of DEVA. Another bot was waiting by the active pod. It typed in a set of numbers on a panel next to it. Her digital body disappeared, and her memory was uploaded into the pod. She waited for further instructions. A voice then said, "Agent Balzac, you will rendezvous with special Agent Skitois upon your arrival on Earth. He will be your entrusted partner for your mission. A file of the details has already been sent to his computer. Do not fail us, Balzac." The pod launched out into space. It headed for Earth. About halfway through Earth's atmosphere, an organic body materialized in the seat of the pod.

Onyxia The Dragon | 158 comments (Alright, Happy early Birthday!)

[ Thank you. I just need a decent sleep and all will be well.]

A day had gone by since the arrival of the message from DEVA. Caspian had been ordered not only to capture the "Frontier Settler he would have to do it with a partner that wasn't even human, Agent Balzac. In fact, Caspian could capture and kill this hacker without losing a wink of sleep in half the time it had taken DEVA. Yet he'd still been sent a partner? It was stupid really, but arguing with the head bosses could lead to execution. Once he had snapped back from this rude awakening, Caspian had immediately taken shelter in an abandoned building which seemed to be a farm, packing it with anything that could be used to defend himself against something that had no sense of pain or emotions... yet unlike the miserable world he was living in, it was a comrade sadly.

Onyxia The Dragon | 158 comments After the body materialized, the pod transferred Angela's file into the brain of it. The pod was getting closer to the ground. It slowed down and the landing gear protracted out of the bottom. The pod slowly landed on the ground. The doors opened, and Angela's eyes opened. She quickly shielded them, not used to seeing through real eyes. She took a deep breath and stepped out of the pod. She quickly gripped the door of the pod as she stumbled out. "Damn.. I'm going to have to get used to having a physical body," she mumbled. She turned her head to look at her reflection on the pod. She raised a hand to touch her blond hair. She felt it between her fingers. It was soft and smooth. She smiled slightly and examined the heavy armor body suit she wore. "It's not my first choice, but it will do," she said to herself. She slowly and carefully approached the back of the pod and popped open the compartment that carried her guns. She picked up the carbine rifle and strapped it to her back. She also picked up the RPG and carried it as she stepped out into the open. Her eyes scanned over the barren wasteland until she caught sight of an old building. She took a deep breath and started walking towards it.

When the sound of light buzzing began to fill the air, Caspian glanced at the watch that lay scattered on the ground, the watch that had lost track of the real time long before. The buzzing ceased with a low thump to the ground causing him to look at the ragged curtain that blocked the radiation only to see a woman walking towards the farm. He squinted his eyes to make out the female, searching for a weapon only to feel his heart drop when he finally found it. He pulled a hood over his head before grabbing an AK-47. He opened the door slowly and cocked his head to the side, narrowing his eyes. Caspian held one hand up, showing he meant no harm though he was ready to shoot the gun if necessary.

Onyxia The Dragon | 158 comments Angela picked up the pace to a light jog as she traveled towards the old building. She watched as the door opened and slowed her pace seeing that the figure carried a gun. She got closer, holding the RPG close. She determined the figure was a male. She noticed he held his hand up to her. She approached the steps of the building, looking up at the hooded figure. "Greetings. Am I speaking to Special Agent Skitois?" she asked.

Caspian stared at her, probably longer than he should have before blinking slowly. His eyes moved from the female to the pod she came in then he shook his head. Now he had seen it all. "Yes, you are. I presume you're Agent Balzac then." He said, beckoning her inside. Pushing a piece of smashed wood up, he gestured to the inside of the building, his head bobbing up and down in approval as he smiled at the room. "Welcome to my humble abode," Caspian glanced at her with a smug grin. "I decorated it myself."

Onyxia The Dragon | 158 comments Angela's expression stayed the same as she looked into the room of the building, neutral. She took a few steps into the building and turned back to Caspian. "Do you have more weapons. My pod, unfortunately, isn't big enough to carry more than two. I was also told by my superiors to expect dangerous specimens while I am here. Can you confirm this?" she asked him.

Caspian frowned, not expecting any emotion from her in the first place. He let out an exasperated sigh before walking to a trunk hidden concealed under blankets that looked as if they'd been eaten by moth larvae. "Yes, I can confirm that there are," He paused, thinking, "different specimen out here but they're only as dangerous as you make them." Caspian lifted up the trunk's lid revealing weapons that he'd once used. "Y'know, your everyday mutated rabbits, foxes and bears. No big deal really." He waved it off though he still had the mark that had been given to him by a squirrel.
