I'm just glad that the movie is still on and wasn't cancelled all together. The wait I can deal with, I've waited nearly as long for a book release so this I can handle. Cancellation, not so much.
If the adaptation of The Maze Runner made you angry, or The Scorch Trials Already made you Even More angry , read James Dashner's introduction to this comic book.

Are There Diffrences Between The Maze Runner Movies and The Books? Of Course. Having Been Involved from The Beginning of The Process. I Supported Those Changes From Novel to Film. It's a Simple Fact That Some Things That Work on a Page,Don't Work in a Movie. and Vice Versa. That's Just The Way it is and It's Okay. That's The Great News! No One is More Familer Then The Novels Then I Am and Yet The Films Let Me Live That World and Those Characters in a Way I Have Never Before
Like me, I hope you'll set aside any concerns over the differences between these two versions of the same world. The characters you love are there, the spirit and the tone and world structure are there. The differences are subtle enough to keep you on your toes and allow you to experience the roller coaster as if it's the first time you had the guts to step up the Maze all over again. The books will always be there. Thomas, Alby, Teresa, Minho, Newt, Chuck, Gally- all of them live, and sometimes die, withint those pages. Nothing WILL ever change within those volumes. Keep them on your shelves and open them up when you want those familiar, original moments.
Seriously. Rage out on the guy after that. It Can't Be Done

See, the first movie was really good. There were some changes, but mainly it stayed on track with the book. So I loved it. Thats the difference to me.

Its not okay to completely take a story and change the whole entire thing; thats not the story James Dashner created for his characters/worlds.
I Disagree with You
I LOVE The Movies :D

Of course we still have The Death Cure movie to look forward to. I know filming has yet to resume, but is there anything you can tease about what fans can look forward to from that?
Dashner: Yeah – they’re going to start filming early in the winter, and it’s scheduled for release in January of ’18. I’ve read the script and I feel very good about it. I think it’s closer to the spirit of the story of the books than maybe the second film was. I feel really good about it. I think it’s just gonna be insanely exciting – a lot of intrigue, just a really energetic, crazy way to wrap up the trilogy of movies.
