The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan

Hidden Oracle is the first book in Rick Riordan's new Trials of Apollo series. It's a spin-off of Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus. I absolutely loved this new book. I've loved all the rest of Rick Riordan's books so it's no surprise this one was great too. It mentioned all of my favorite characters from the previously series and some of them even came back to Camp Half Blood. This book definitely gets 5 stars from me. Now I have to wait a year for book 2.

I've never read any Rick Riordan, but I love the idea of his series. I just don't read much YA, but thinking the next time YA is the tag, I'll have to give him a shot.

Dang on waiting a whole YEAR for book 2 though. Maybe he will surprise you and write faster!

I just bought the Egyptian series for my niece (I try to ram reading down everyone in the family's throats!). She loves it and read the first in two days, at eight years old. It makes my heart sing! I've been meaning to try the Percy Jackson series. I must.

I haven't read the Egyptian series. I've read the Greek, Roman, and Norse ones though.
