Welcome to the group!
It's a great idea, and wonderful that you're donating some of the proceeds from the book to charity. I wish you the best of luck with it.

The rest of the money goes back to making more books. I do not make money from this. It is truly a way to give back to the wonderful people who give all their free time to save lives. And to teach our children how to be kind and giving adults by telling stories through books!
Please tell your friends! There can never be too much traffic or followers!
I am new to the group and after reading the "Group Rules" I know that I can talk to you about my book, "The Upstairs Cat". It is the first book of the Rescue Me series, and although it is geared towards kids, it will touch the hearts of every age! The book is a true story about my son's cat and how she had to deal with being alone for the first time in her life after he left for college. It is meant to be used as a tool to teach kids an important "life lesson," change and the emotional similarities we share with our pets. This is a great book for animal lovers as well. There is also a philanthropic component as a portion of the sales of every book goes to local charities that save cats and dogs. As the publisher (a nonprofit Indie) and the author, I am using every outlet I can think of to bring notice to this book. I am reaching out to all of you and asking if you would simply go to our website www.anopendoor.us to look at the book and read about our mission for the series, as well as, telling all your friends! This book is a labor of love! It has taken me half my life to find my passion and purpose. Now, I am driven to find loving homes for this book and complete the rest of the series. There is also an underlying theme of acceptance, tolerance, and compassion that involves the "human" family (a single Mom, biracial parents, Gay parents, and Grandma) and allowing children to be open to every kind of family! Please take a look at "The Upstairs Cat" and tell me what you think on the contact form and don't forget to follow us! I cannot wait to hear from all of you! Tons of thanks, Jaimi Ilama (an acronym for I Love All My Animals)
