Alicia wasn't there. Alicia had left had fled for a while and had no intention of returning not until that was that an enemy wanted to mess with her late night fuck. But as it turned out it was only a false threat and eventually Alicia was admitted into the hospital on pregnancy watch.

Richard returned everyday until they finally told him that she was there. "What room?" he asked frantically. The nurse have him the room number and he ran back. He found her in the maternity ward and was clearly confused as he opened the door and stepped in. "Alicia?"

Alicia was quite tired having gone through the constrictions daily. Her eyes fluttered open weakly only narrowed a tad she could make out hazy colors. "I may be a mother but you can't take my child." She hissed in a hoarse voice. Clearly that was the life of a villain.

"Woah Alicia I would never take your child from you. Don't you remember me? It's me, Dick. I know it's been almost 9 months but I've been looking for you." He sat down in a chair next to her bed and watched her. 'Why didn't she tell me?' he wondered.

Alicia wasn't thinking straight. "No man could love a girl like me." She hissed her sight still impaired.

"What happened to you?" He had sorted out the fact that the baby must be his but he was more worried about her right now. She didn't seem ok and she wasn't really looking at him. "I loved you then and I still love you now."

Alicia looked over at him, now truly exposing herself. She was vulnerable. It seemed that dried tears had stained her face, probably from hours of crying. Not from the baby but heartbreak. "I told myself if I could keep myself away I wouldn't feel the pain." She said with difficulty. "But it only made it worse." Tears were welled in her eyes.

Richard slid into the bed next to her and pulled her body to his. "Shhhh it's ok. I'm here now. You're ok." He brushed her hair out of her face and tried to calm her down.

Despite Alicia's refusal of his touch and his affection she found herself desiring it more in this desperate time of need.

Richard held her until the doctor came in to check on her. "Who is this?" the doctor asked Alicia. Richard didn't think it was his place to respond.

"Alicia Richards," she said back in a hoarse voice.

"And who's your friend?" The doctor was checking her mental health. Alicia hadn't been all there when she was brought in. And up until now hadn't responded when talked to.
Richard opened his mouth to answer but stopped when the doctor shook his head.

Alicia narrowed her eyes, "I don't know what you are implying but I'd be much more obliged to speak to another doctor," she said as a warning.

The doctor sighed and left the room. Richard sat up and placed a kiss on her forehead. "I don't think he was trying to be mean Alicia." He chuckled and started to move back to his chair. "Is this the reason that you didn't come to meet me that night? Because of the baby?"

"I told you before I don't love easily nor did I think it right to be with you at the time," her comment may have stung but it was honest. She hoped he could see past the harshness of her morals and understand it was in both their interest she had taken that course at said time.

"Ok. What about now? What are your thoughts now?" Richard asked placing his hand on the bed close to her own.

Alicia looked away from him, "i'm not going to deny I appreciate your presence."

Richard smiled softly and nodded. "Fair enough. So is it a boy or a girl?" He didn't like her response but he wouldn't argue with her either. She needed to come to a decision about her feelings on her own and he knew it.

"I don't know," Alicia lied. (She lies cuz in the future kid shows up and Richards not completely aware it'd his kid so if he knows gender wouldn't make much surprise a boy shows up. "I'm tired Richard. Can you go?" She asked looking away from him.

Richard stood up and placed a gentle hand on her cheek. "Of course but I will be back to check on you tomorrow. Please don't run off."

Bruce was busy tackling a pile of taxes to worry about his son Richard and his whereabouts. Although he was curious as to his previous doings. When he arrived home, there was a ring at the doorbell. Bruce groaned placing his hands in his face he massaged it trying to releave the stress.

Richard returned home and went to the batcave to work on a few things. He was so happy that he had finally found Alicia. He wasn't sure what his father would say about their relationship, if that's even she wanted, but he didn't really care.

Bruce heard the doorbell rang and approached it. Looking through the eye hole he found a dark haired boy standing there. Bruce almost felt like he was looking at a younger version of Richard, only the boy's skin tone was slightly darker than his son. He didn't seem to be accompanied by anyone else. Bruce thought that was rather odd and thought for a moment.

Richard stood at the top of the stairs and looked down at the door. "Who's out there Bruce?" He started down the steps slowly to get a look for himself. It was a cod night and he found it odd that Bruce would make anybody stand out there in this weather.

Bruce's eyes narrowed. Who was this strange kid. "There's a kid," Bruce said out the corner of his lips. "Who is it I wonder," He mumbled aloud. He didn't even bother to glance at his son. "Do you know if the girl scouts have been recruiting?" He asked with a mild laugh.

"Really? That's what your asking?" Richard reached the bottom of the stairs and made his way over to the door. He looked through the eye hole and saw the boy. He looked familiar but Richard knew he had never seen him before. He cautiously opened the door and looked at the boy. "Can I help you?"

The boy, Aramis looked at Richard. "Is this Wayne Manor?" He asked with a very calm voice yet a stern face. He looked like if he had the chance to knock somebody out he wouldn't bat an eye at the opportunity. His face was partially dirty but other then that he had his striking features and smooth skin yet rough hands.

"Yeah. This is definitely Wayne Manor. Are you looking for Mr. Wayne?" Richard folded his arms and leaned against the doorframe casually as he gave the boy a once over. He couldn't shake the feeling that he knew this child.

"I'm looking for my father Richard Wayne?" He asked crossing his arms looking rather impressed. "He's probably not much older than me," Amaris went on to say, somewhat bragging. "My mom was a total slut shagged the guy on the first day. So if you see him can ya tell him his son came by?"

"Boy I don't know who put you up to this but it isn't funny. I'm in my thirties, and the last woman I slept with disappeared. That was almost 13 years ago. So whatever you think you're trying to pull isn't going to work. Go home!" And with that he slammed the door in the boy's face. He had spent a few months trying to locate Alicia after she disappeared from the hospital records. After that he had scoured every news outlet available looking for even the smallest hint as to her whereabouts he gave up about 11 years ago when he found a news clipping about a woman fitting Alicia's description dying in an accident. Neither the woman nor her unborn child had made it.

Bruce appeared on his tolling chair. "Is everything alright Richard?" He asked hav in. Heard the slam and the volume of his sons voice he knew it mustn't have been an average cookie selling boy. That got his curiosity and concern going.

Much to Richard's dismay, the boy rang the doorbell once again. "Dad open up! I know you're in there!" He said.

Richard ignored the boy and instead turned his attention to his father. "That child wants to say he's my son. And he isn't leaving. He couldn't possibly be mine." He moved away from the door and tried even harder to ignore it. "What should I do?"

Bruce looked up, "What should you do?" He asked with a raised eye. His glasses reflected the bright screen of his laptop. "Invite the kid in, it's not often I am approached by a kid asking for my son." True it was, Bruce was working his son to the bone. He was farily calm for such an encounter of such odd exceptions, so he thought he had the time to get as much as he wanted. Plus it was quite amusing.

Richard glared at Bruce as he opened the door. He reluctantly looked at the boy as he spoke. "Come on in. But don't touch anything. I'll hear you out but if I think you're lying to me about any of it you're gone. Is that understood?" He thought he heard a chuckle from behind him as he moved to let the child past.

Aramis stood outside for a moment, not saying anything nor expressing any specific emotion. His eyebrows were relaxed. He noticed Bruce watching him closely as he entered in and like a mannered child, closed the door behind him. "Have you heard of the news lately?" He asked his hand lingering on the door, his eyes shifting over to Richard.

"What news are you referring to?" Richard asked as he led the boy into the living room. He sat down in one of the chairs and motioned for Aramis to sit across from him. "And what is your full name, if you don't mind my asking?"

"Aramis Simara," Aramis replied simply, plopping down on the couch rather than the offered seat. Aramis felt not at all compelled to expose any affection to a man who closed the door on him. Not that it matter none the less he was still going to be quite the ass about it, then again, he got the ass from the man he considered to be the largest ass around. He was looking right at him.

"Really? A palindrome? How am I supposed to take you seriously when you can't come up with better names than that?" Richard sighed softly knowing that he wasn't handling the situation correctly and tried to fix it. "What's your mother's name? And how much has she told you about me?"

Aramis looked at Richard, his eyes steady. At his tone and his lienceny with the situation prompted Aramis' jaw to tighten, a lower neck vein appeared below his skin. Bruce who was watching silently asked, "Richard?" He raised en eyebrow. "What is the meaning of this?" It was not to Bruce's knowledge that Richard had a child, let alone the batman had a grandson.

"That's what I'm trying to figure out Dad. I was supposed to have a child. The mother disappeared and when I finally found her after nearly 9 months of searching she was in a hospital being kept there on maternity watch. She asked me to leave that night and I did so against my better judgement and told her that I'd be back the next morning. When I got back she was gone. I tried searching for her but then I found a news article that described someone that looked like her and their unborn child being in an accident. According to that neither one survived. That was 13 years ago almost. Aramis I need to know what your mother's name is. I have to know if the woman I loved is alive." Richard wasn't the type to get emotional but this was a very touchy subject for him and he was finding it difficult to keep his emotions in check.

Bruce's facial expressions remained expressionless. This wasn't much affecting him but mentally yes, it was doing quite its tole on his emotional stability. My son? He wondered, bewildered by this new information. "B-But when did this happen?" he asked trying to think of a time to which any of this could have hapened without his knowing. Bruce was unable to come up with anything. If that had happened to Bruce at Richard's age, he knew he would have been given a scolding if not the guilt to know that he had done something. He took a deep breathe.


This was quite some news to young Aramis. What he had grown up was, without a father. He felt the anger rise in his body. At the moment he didn't care to conceal it. Blood rushed up to his face in anger, "So you are my father!" he said with a seeth in his voice. Yes this was so much for a young boy to contain in only a few moments of meeting a long lost father - a father absent from his life. There was barley an excuse for such a thing. Aramis' eyes flickered over to Bruce but Bruce was looking at Richard. Soon Aramis' eyes joined Bruce's direction. Richard.

"Do you remember that mission you sent me on about 14 years ago when you had something better to do? You know like hooking up with Dawnstar? Yeah it happened that night and every night for the next week." Richard turned away from Bruce and faced Aramis instead. "And yes, Aramis, it would seem that I'm your father. Believe me if your mother hadn't run off I would have been around. I tried everything to find her. I had no idea what last name she was using and there are way too many Alicia's in Gotham and the surrounding cities to even attempt to find them all and question them. I was overjoyed when I heard that I was going to be a father. But then she left me and took that away from me. I was afraid to enlist the help of your grandfather and get chewed out at the time. And when I thought that you were both dead I locked myself in my room for several weeks. I didn't do my job as Nightwing and I didn't talk to anyone. I couldn't." He looked down at his hands in his lap as he awaited the response he knew was coming.

Aramis wasn't certain how to respond. According to his father, Rightwing was under the impression Aramis and his mother were dead. "Who had killed us then?" He asked, the heat rising again. "Certainly a renegade like Bruce would have taught you something about a righteous revenge!" His voice was emotional, hurt, angry and confused. Very confused. His eyes were locked on the image of his father, demanding answers he never had.

"It was a hit and run accident. I had tried to find out. But there was no evidence that the police hadn't already found and I used their information to try to track the person down but I couldn't find anything. I didn't ask your grandfather for help because that would mean explaining what I had done and I was afraid." Richard looked at his son. He wanted to comfort him but it wouldn't have made a difference.

[ [ maybe amaris tries to make a life of his own but comes close to death on every situation - eventually drawing him back to his father - forcing them to bond and realize they have each other - the broken bat family of course. ]

(Sounds good to me. I'm thinking that Richard keeps a close eye on him and at least attempts to reach out every time something happens but he always stops short and pulls back from Aramis because he doesn't want to make things worse.)

Nightwing motioned for Krystal to follow them inside. She seemed even more skittish now that they were here than she had on the way here. He told Alicia and Aramis to go on and he'd meet them inside. "Aramis, go straight to your grandfather and give him the report." When they had left he turned back to the girl. "We won't hurt you. This place is safe."

"Nowhere is safe," she replied. "How can I be sure your son isn't going to do me any harm?"

"Listen, Aramis seems tough because he thinks he has to be. It's the way he was raised. You haven't had that same upbringing. From the looks of it you've been on your own for years. Getting help isn't a bad thing but you have to trust people in order to get it."

Krys landed on the ground and didn't bother to tuck in her wings as she tentatively followed Richard inside.

Bruce Wayne was no idiot. Something happened and met Amaris at the head of the Cave. His large stature was much larger than his son. Accidentally bumping into Batman, Nightwing's girlfriend Alicia hissed and hit the vigilante across the head. "Look where the fuck you're going Bruce Wayne." She said, her eyes narrowed.

There was a lot of noise suddenly.
Then silence. "Bring her." Bruce Wayne's voice echoed throughout the interior.

Krystal froze. "This wasn't a good idea. I shouldn't have come in." She began to take off and go back the way they had come but she felt someone grab her foot and pull her back to the ground.

Richard caught her and brought her back down. "My father won't hurt you. He's pretty rough around the edges sometimes but he isn't that bad." He lead her to Bruce. When they were standing in front of him and Richard had moved himself to stand next to Alicia he noticed Krystal's wings change to a dark black that seemed to swallow all light.
