Deeply Odd is our June 2016 Group Read (in addition to Darkfall).

I am currently reading this book, but I will be going offline in a few days. I will return on June 7th.

Please feel welcome to discuss Deeply Odd here. You can also find an older thread from when the book was first published - this would be found in the Odd Thomas Folder on the Group Home Page.

Happy Reading Koontzlanders.

Heather Morris | 52 comments I just started chapter 7 and I'm already wondering what the heck is going on!

She didn't look quite so adorable at the moment. She looked like a mean Muppet hot for vengeance.
-Deeply Odd, Chapter 7

Heather Morris | 52 comments I finished and I still have so many questions!

Mary (broomemarygmailcom) | 377 comments this was my favorite of the Odd books
fot me it could have ended the series and left.to our imaginings.

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 884 comments I found I enjoyed it much more this time around. I think it might be my favorite Odd book. I finished it yesterday and immediately began Saint Odd to keep the continuity going.

I have also started Saint Odd. The new discussion thread for Saint Odd can be found in the Current Group Read Discussions on the homepage.

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 884 comments Thanks Dustin. I will be anxious to see if others viewed the books differently with this re-read.

Fred (fredderoche) My second read, getting more detail, such as Mrs. Fisher's wild driving of the limousine as they chase of the "Rhinestone" cowboy trucker and try finding the 3 children.

message 10: by Fred (new) - rated it 5 stars

Fred (fredderoche) I just finished "My Review". As many of you said, in a second reading you find more detail. I found end with a nice flow with Oddie finding the 3 Payton and 14 other children and help from Mrs. Fisher, Boo & Mr. Hitchcock.

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 884 comments One of the things I picked up was the use of infinity symbols here as had been in Odd Appocalypse

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 884 comments I wasn't sure where to post this but I was very saddened to read that Anton Yelchin, who played Odd in the movie died on Saturday, due to his jeep rolling over.

This is the first I've heard of that :-(
A very good actor. I've enjoyed many of his roles in films.

He didn't quite get his vehicle in park, and it somehow went into neutral and pinned him between it and his brick mailbox.

Such a young and talented person.

Yes, I really enjoyed him in Fright Night and of course Star Trek . I thought he was great as Odd Thomas, really demonstrating that Odd was "just a fry cook"
