Chapter 13: (view spoiler)[ This seems alright so far. I don't particular like Kylie but I don't dislike her either. I like Della the most at the moment. The whole camp thing reminds me a bit of Percy Jackson with how the kids with different origins had different strengths and weaknesses. My guess is that Kylie is descended from a god since that was one of the options of where her power comes from. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 23: (view spoiler)[ I find it a bit awkward with the chapter divisions. It seemed that the chapters end really abruptly and it's supposed to be suspenseful but the part where it cuts off isn't really impactful enough for the suspenseful intent. It just ends up strangely cutting off in the middle of a conversation sometimes and I don't really like it. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 33: (view spoiler)[ I knew that Lucas couldn't have been the one to kill her kitten. I think she was just jumping to conclusions with that one and holding a meaningless grudge. I think it took too long to move from the "help me" thing with the blood and the ghost to determining he needs her help. (hide spoiler)]

At page 68 dnf. Sorry guys, I won't be joining for the rest of this book. I just can't...this is usually the type of book I read but I just don't like this one. It's too "telling" instead of "showing" in a type of writing kind of way. Plus, I think I've read this before but a long time ago and maybe I forgot the title but it's all so predicatable to me. I do hope you guys enjoy it but it's just not for me.

For me this is a re-read. I thought it got better as it went along. I know that this is one of those books where a lot people liked it but a lot people didn't like it too.

Oh good, cause I was going to say that I'm kind of annoyed with Kelsie already. She seems really judgy so far. and the fixation on Trey is annoying already. I hope it lessens soon. But the writing is okay. Did you decide you liked it by the end the first time around?

I did like it. It wasn't a great series but it was good. I'm letting you know now there is going to be a love triangle. I don't know how you feel about those.

haha, thanks for the heads up, they're pretty hit or miss for me. it's Derek Kylie Lucas isn't it? i can already tell I'm annoyed with Derek and I like Lucas, so I assume she'll end up with Derek... which is jumping way ahead lol. I'm only on 106 right now and it's going pretty good. she's losing some of the judginess. and I like Miranda and the toad thing :)

Hannah, you're definitely right about the arguing. Della and Miranda are at each other's throats all the time! It's kind of annoying, but I like that it's not all bffs for life instantly. Much more realistic this way.

(view spoiler)[I like that Kylie is finally getting more mellow about the whole "freaks" thing. She was pretty judgy at first and I'm glad that she's starting to mellow out. It's weird, but it makes me appreciate the beginning more now that she's trying to change, you know? (hide spoiler)]

Anyway, I'm finally starting to really get into it and I'm pleased that it's a pretty quick read. There are some books where it doesn't matter if I want to read them or not, they just drag so badly that it takes forever to get through them. This may not be the greatest book ever, but it's pretty entertaining so far. :)

I'm glad that you are liking this more. I agree that this isn't the best book but it was good. That's actually how I felt about the whole series.
