Tamlin is the villain theory

At first, I wasn't happy with how Tamlin's character seemed to go from protective of Feyre to literally smothering her in a toxic way. Like I was fuming at SJM. But, maybe his character change is part of the bigger story. Tamlin is written in a way that you can't help but to despise him.

As a reader, it's difficult to sympathize with him because we never get a POV. We get Feyre, Rhys, Lucien POV but we never get Tamlin's.

Maybe the King of Hybern has been seducing Tamlin to the dark side admist fears he'll lose Feyre. (Think Anakin in Star Wars)

Anyone else find it odd how his older brothers were killed off? He's literally alone with the exception of Lucien.

Also, they keep referencing how strong Tamlin is now that his full magic is back. Maybe foreshadowing them having to battle him at some point?

I didn't really see all that much change in Tamlin like others have. He was always very protective, secretive, and controlling. He just got worse in the second book, I think because seeing Feyre under the mountain and the fear he went through made these traits worse. He became paranoid about losing her, and so he became even more protective, secretive and controlling of her.

It's funny because I made the same comparison--Anakin and Tamlin. It's very similar, in that the fear of losing the one they love is driving them to extreme measures and twisting them into something dark.

I think it would be very interesting if that's been Sarah's plan, to give Tamlin a hero to villain arc. Not all villains just wake up and become villains lol. I think witnessing the fall, how they become that way, is very interesting.

Tamlin survived because Rhysand stopped his father from killing him. I assume his father just went for the oldest first, then planned on killing Tamlin last. But Rhys stepped in.
