Brandon (dsl_on_lsd) | 1 comments The book takes place somewhere in Europe, the era I'm not entirely sure. I'd hazard 1500-1800 at the latest. I read the book approximately 15 years ago. I believe it was hardcover with a black spine and red cover and back.

If I'm not mistaken a man falls in love with a woman who has a twin that holds him captive - he may or may not be in a wheelchair. He watches his captor undress from a window. He may have a painting of one of the sisters which is how he meets them.

Terribly sorry for being so vague. I feel that somewhere on the dust cover mentioned Justine by Marquis de sade as an inspiration or comparable.
